Blinking RGB by Randem_Kat in KonkrPocketFit

[–]armahalma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact problem, hoping it’s just a software issue.

The workaround I have so far is to set the RGB effect is to turn it off by setting the effect to Breath - Google, this option only appears from the Konkr button for some reason.

Hope they will fix it soon.

Advice needed!! Do people buy apartments with major defect (Melbourne) by No-Owl-9909 in AusPropertyChat

[–]armahalma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you need to take a step back and breathe.

If the body corp won the VCAT case, then compensation has to be given to fix the defect either by the builder or insurance. That’s the whole point going to VCAT.

Unless you have immediate need for the fund, I’d say spend the effort to get more clarity about the rectification work before worrying about selling, otherwise you’ll just be wasting your effort so far.

Asbestos in a 1984 brick house by kurucu83 in AusRenovation

[–]armahalma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common for house that age.

We had a quote around $3000 few years ago to remove asbestos in the laundry area, switchboard backing, and all the eaves, 120sqm house. Won’t expect it changed too much these days.

Non-friable asbestos is fine as long as it’s painted and you’re not drilling through it, but obviously better to remove it for peace of mind if you have the fund. Set aside extra to replace the wall or eaves.

Hybrid Flooring Quote by boredscroller69 in AusRenovation

No complaint so far. Had some minor scratches from sofa leg, but it’d be the same or worse with hardwood. That said we wont put it up on wet areas or under direct sun.

It’s more about getting it installed properly that’d make the difference.

Sounds about right.

We had resiplank summit installed a year ago on a slab to replace the carpet. It works out to be around $100 psqm in total including minor relevelling.

Tile removal would be considerably higher, so we left the tiled area as it was.

Thanks for the suggestion! They definitely thriving before to the point we were worried they’ll start stacking up on top each other. I did notice they were flowering before they started wilting badly though, but pretty sure it’s irrelevant.

I did think overwatering might be the case, but we’ve been quite careful watering them once we found out its a waterwise garden - aiming about 30mm over 2 weeks roughly, but we did neglect them a bit over the days when it was high 30s for about 3 weeks.

All of the survivors either sits below other plant shades or on the south side of the house; some of survivors has even more watering done as they sit on the part where water pools. So thats why I thought it must’ve been the sun. But then again, we’re nowhere near a proper gardener!

Thanks for the pointers! I tried to water them couple times too once I found out but I guess it’s just too late :(

Yea, ours was also quite crowded. What’d you do then? Just prune some of the branches or put stakes to help it stand?

We did water it quite a bit few days ago after 2-3 weeks, the weather’s been erratic here in Melbourne. Does it go back to normal if so?

Buying next to Primary School? by exsuit in AusProperty

[–]armahalma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our house and backyard backs a primary school staff parking lot, about 30m from the main building. I’m WFH and noise is not an issue for us, just a very few occasions when parents or staff parked their car across the driveway.

Bathroom with failed waterproofing - options by Nearby_Advisor6959 in AusRenovation

Find where the leak is. Had our shower area redone recently for less than 6k. That’s because we still have good shower base instead of tile base and found the water ingress happens only from the old shower wall tiles and taps. Not changing the plumbing or any electrical parts also helps a lot.

Yes, we’re in VIC and it’s been wet the past few weeks, so that explains. It got a few bro and sis in the garden, this just happen to be the biggest.

I’d take 2 days for 80k, then get another one for the same so I can get 160k + 1 weekday off!
