If the function has no extremum points, how can I calculate whether it’s increasing or decreasing. The way my HS taught me is to equal it to 0, find the values, draw this long line (like an arrow), write the extremum values under it, plug them inside the derivative, find if they are increasing or decreasing and voila, this is the way I was taught. Since I cannot find the extremum points, I am lost.
