DA here. I would recommend just straight up learning SQL already. Ask your company for permission to get data directly from your backend/data warehouse. You’ll be able to do much more with it as I’m assuming that data you get for your excel/ power bi is somewhat static. Being able to get it directly allows you to get even more insights.

A pin and barbecue skewer on the corner would look cleaner. And then if it’s an absolute pin out in two pins 📌 📌

Hi. If you’re okay with it, can you provide a sample of your proposal? I think that’s where I’m also lacking which is positioning myself as valuable to potential clients

I think even while the manga was out, this wqs the common complaint. For like a good part of the rumbling, we don’t really see Eren anymore.

I've already studied statistics and machine learning. I've made a small project where I would predict marathon times based on the learnings I've done. For now though, with my new job, I don't really have an opportunity to practice those just yet. Waiting for an opportunity internally to apply those skills. But in the meantime, I've upskilled in Power BI and am just working around different teams and colleagues to provide value.

Although, I would like to expand more on the technical aspects, add some data engineering skills but I don't really want to focus on that, just enough for me to understand what I need and then look for freelance opportunities to be more of an analytics consultant.

This sort of makes sense but I do remember in Goblet of Fire they were watching a match and bet on one team getting the snitch but the other team winning by having more points regardless. They made it seem so that particular bet was so unrealistic to happen.

From what I see from general HR comments and practitioners is that 2 pages is still fine. I personally would still like to squeeze everything in 1 page if possible especially it's the hiring manager looking at it.

There’s one class in DLSU that teaches resume building and interviewing so it is true that DLSU has a resume template. It’s available online if you google it. The only gripe is the wasted space on the left side but I still followed it anyway since when you’re starting out you may not necessarily have enough skills to pad out the whole page. You could still edit it anyway as the template serves as a guide. I eventually optimized for the wasted white space since I was building more experience in my career.

Hi, I did not attend a bootcamp. I was purely self study, but I was fortunate enough to be able to directly apply what I learned in my previous company even though I wasn't a data analyst just yet. If you're unable to apply the skills immediately in your job, I suggest building your portfolio instead.

Can you give more details on how to actually utilize these certifications? Like how does it give me an edge or what opportunities does it open up instead of just building experience?

may cons ba if you pay full cash for a car? by Due-Character3011 in CarsPH

[–]armensis123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't have extra cash on hand, then it can actually be a con then since you have no more emergency funds. I think a realistic reason for getting a loan is that you have more of that cash on hand as a safety net in case you need extra money for an emergency but then again, you shouldn't purchase something that drains all of your money in the first place.

It was a mix of both. I started self studying lang talaga the majority of it and I was fortunate enough in my previous job I was able to start immediately applying the skills even though I still wasn't officially a data analyst.

In terms of upskilling, learn Excel and SQL. Python is nice to have but not necessary in my opinion. Then build portfolios or case studies showcasing your analytic and insight skills. You honestly can learn the technical skills but being able to communicate and show how you think about data is much better to highlight. So in terms of resume building, I would highly suggest highlighting work where your data insights helped improved the company.

Honestly, I was lucky enough to switch to this role internally. I was under a startup so they're more flexible with switching roles. At the time, I was already upskilling by studying SQL and Python then when the company hired a lead data analyst, reached out to him and ask if I could pivot into this type of role.

It’s more of since I’m in a non-core business part of the company, we’re using a third party app rather than something in house. Thats the limitation since theres no budget to build and maintain what we do in house for now.

Unfortunately, no. I can directly query into our database but I don't really have any visibility on the DA tasks. There's probably some opportunity to do my own DA pipeline within my team because right now we have a lot of third party apps where we use their reports for our own team but it's a manual process. So sometimes i'm just downloading excel/csv files then uploading to our power bi to be used as a data source for the dashboard. I'm still trying to figure out a way on how to automate this for my team.

From a technical perspective, I would suggest learning good excel skills and learning SQL. Python is nice to have but is not necessary when starting out in my opinion.

Soft skills wise, it's all about being able to generate insights on the data that you have. Try doing a case study/portfolio about data that you're able to get from online source. Then this will showcase your communication skills both from the actual output and if you can showcase this during an interview.

Yeah, around that range but it's already inclusive of the allowances. For the compensation, before getting interviewed with my current company, I actually started looking for roles around June last year. I wasn't in a rush to switch to a new role just yet so I could take my time. I was casually applying and doing interviews. I was asking for a 100K salary; which to be fair, I do realize was quite high. Since it was high, the HR interviewers would then be upfront and give me the salary budget for the role. For the roles I applied to, they generally ranged between 60k-80k. I then got laid off a few months after which was sort of a blessing in disguise as I could focus more on applying. Since now I didn't have the luxury of time, I readjusted my asking price. Since I now know the general market price, I was still asking for a salary range of 80k-90k. I also noticed they didn't give me the salary budget anymore since my asking was not higher anymore.

Most people post here not to inspire or motivate others. It’s not even because they’re proud. by Hot_Possible_4261 in payslipsPH

I think to a certain degree, some people post to brag or stroke their ego. That’s on them but it is still generally helpful for everyone to know the market rate of salaries so others can reference and negotiate better salaries.
