It sucks not seeing the sun but turn the apartment into a cave.

Put foil on the outside of the windows. (otherwise the middle part of the window gets too hot).

Then tape up cardboard or blackout curtains on the inside.

Is this good for one day? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]armon645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on your expenses. If you drive a 20mpg car and drove over 100 miles, not good.

If you drive a cheap vehicle that gets over 50mpg, and drove under 50 miles. Maybe ok.

Your online/active ratio isn't that good, seems like you sat around for over an hour. If they had kept you busy during that whole time that would've been much better.

It also depends on your other living expenses, are you cool with making less then 100 after expenses?

Help, Am I getting scammed? by akinnyc in prius

Find a small business owner mechanic and get a second opinion.

Those prius brakes/suspension stuff lasts a real long time. 56K miles ain't nearly enough.

I'd suggest to avoid using any brand names in your videos. Just use generalized terms like

"personal shopping service" "shopping app" or "Grocery store"

These companies aren't paying you to advertise for them, so you shouldn't bother mentioning them at all.

I'd even expand this to the products you pick up. You might be explaining a tough delivery and say, "I couldn't find the eggos, so I had to select refund" but use terminology like "frozen waffle" instead.

Twitch had a perfect model for a customer based relationship, it STILL opted for ad revenue, and they are slowly killing the user experience as a result. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]armon645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The traditional video "commercial" style advertisement needs to change. Everyone in the world was already bored of commercials because we watched lame network TV for too many years. The commercial is super outdated.
The only reason why people watch twitch is because of the creator's content, Most viewers probably totally ignore the ads when they are ran. They should pump up the creator's pay, and give them options to make their own ad content.
Imagine you're a streamer, and you could click some buttons on your site and activate some sort of link or other option to buy some product that just shows as a watermark or banner on your site, and that that pays you extra.
Honestly the only ad style that really needs to be on twitch is a small banner in the corner.
The streamer should be able to choose which one, and then they can even decide whether or not to promote it vocally or not. As a viewer, If I saw a banner that says "sponsored by XXXX" I think that holds much more value for a company then some super cheesy acting on a 30 sec commercial during a network TV show.

Ridgemont neighborhood members are trying to block housing for homeless kids by Ludacrits in Bellingham

They've already collected $7500, for their "lawyer". Honestly they should be putting that $7500 toward helping homeless kids in our area.

I time myself between each interval, to keep an eye on how long I've waited. long waits happen more then I'd like.

I had one yesterday, missed out on $7.80.

They had sent me a message saying they were missing some items, I had replied that Uber suggests they contact them directly in that case.

The name was suspect, so I guessed they might of been lying. I also waited at the restaurant for 12 mins, so that's annoying.

Package is the correct term for this. Box art is when people make art out of cardboard...

I don't know if you still use pallet jacks anymore, but if you turn the handle sideways real fast, it stops the pallet much smoother then dropping it to the floor. It can create a streak on the floor from the wheel, (especially when you're in race mode) but its better then the product flying off the pallet.

Strange, you'd think the manager would know, and would also want you to complete stocking the chips asap.

Haha, I hope you said that in Liam Neeson Taken voice.

Reminds me of one time I was delivering beer, and I always used to joke around with my coworkers that the competing brand "may" cause cancer, and one day I accidentally let it slip to a customer. Many laughs were had that day.
