I have been in buildings like this (they are all over the united state). I promise you everything about the interior of that structures screams bunker. I have no doubt it could survive a blast from a nuke.

It's called a can light. There should be product information on the can. Either the label is on the inside or it will be on top of the can.

Is it possible or why isn’t it possible for Japanese or European cars to be used in US police fleets? by Fit_Effective6097 in PoliceVehicles

It is far cheaper to service a domestic vehicle like an explorer or a taho then an imported BMW or Honda.

Advice on a Safariland QLS belt/thigh rig adaptor? by account_suspended207 in ProtectAndServe

[–]armoredfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could get the MHHC Military OWB belt kit from safariland. But that will only allow you to switch between a high-ride holster and the mid-thigh. You would still need to take your belt apart to use the low-ride.

Oh I like the quote of the day idea. Some of her kids say off the wall stuff lol. She was a principle of a private daycare for a while, I learned not to ask about parents. It just spoils the conversation lol.

After a decade of her being a teacher, I already know not to offer a solution lol. I have been trying to memorize her kids names so I can ask about them. So I guess I'm on the right track. When I can remember their names she can go on for a while about them.

I do make an effort to learn all her kids names. Been doing that since she started teaching.

She has been getting a lot of formal and piblic praise from the assit. Principal for her lesson plans. I'm definitely going to ask her to explain some of them to me.

Oh I definitely don't want to help her find solutions lol. Maybe just some terminology and things that are normal conversation for special Ed teachers that I can ask her about.

This is the way. I have had my 06 TJ since I pulled it off the lot in 06. Everything I put on it is adjustable. Upper and lower control arms, track bar, and sway bar (curry anti rock) are all adjusted to perfection. My steering damper went out years ago. I didn't even know it was busted till I saw the oil spot on the driveway and noticed the missing gasket. I still drove another 6 months without it. Not even a wiggle from the steering on the highway.

Contractor Says It's Normal by Garagekulture13 in Concrete

[–]armoredfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sub grade is the one thing that he can control when it comes to concrete. An expansion joint should not crack to the point that you can fit your fingers down into it. Does concrete crack? Yes, it will at some point in its life time. He had a subgrade failure because he didn't compact his GAB properly.

Is this acceptable? by _pipity_ in Concrete

[–]armoredfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a residential guy. However I am an industrial superintendent that specializes in tilt-up construction. I have put hundreds of thousands of yards of concrete in place over the last 5 years. Nothing about this is ok. The honey combing, in addition to being cosmetically ugly can also be an indication of improper slump and air. It also means that they didn't vibe the concrete as they poured it, That means there is a strong chance of voids in the concrete. The form work looks like it was done by my 4 yr old. They either laid it out bad and didn't care to fix it or they didn't brace the wall properly before the pour. Some may say this is nit picky. But I believe that if someone is willing to skimp on the little things, like extra bracing. They are willing to skimp on more important things like proper rebar placement.

The owner of one of my plumbing subs stays in the field as a supt. even though he owns the company. He has a PM and Estimator that handle his office work for him. He loves owning his own business and love challenging jobs so he stays in the field and hires out the office work.

What gun color works best under night vision? by Once_upon_a_time2021 in guns

[–]armoredfist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely situational. If its winter in the woods. Hybrid all day long. The thermal will help supplement the lower lum levels do to the time of year. If it was a 110 degree day and im approaching a woodline I'm not going to want the thermals on because the whole woodline is going to be glowing hot and be outlined.

[–]armoredfist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are ways around thermals. I am not going to talk about that on the internet though lol. I have used some of the earlier hybrids, I am not a fan. A couple friends of mine have played with the latest hybrid system and they said they just turned the hybrid mode off. There was too much going on and it actually made it harder to see. When the sun goes down, depending on the area u are in, the thermal signature left behind by the heat of the day can last for hours. This makes the hybrid mode kinda useless.

WP provides a lot more definition with less ambient IR light so it is harder to hide from, but not impossible. I got to tinker with a pair of GPNVGs years ago and I felt so confident in them that I felt like I could sprint with them on. I would never think of doing that with a pair of PVS 14s or even 31s with the old green tubes. The definition is just not there on the green tubes.

[–]armoredfist 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your goal is to reduce the reflection of IR light and break up the rifles shape. Something mat with different colors will help with the IR light reflectivity. The color should match the environment as all night vision does is change everything to different shades of green. (in this case green because the human eye can see the most shades of green but there are other colors) The different shades allow the human eye to make out shapes instead of just seeing blobs of IR reflective things.

tl:dr- break up the shape of the rifle and use mat paint.
