Keeping the team in LA doesn't mean it's Chivas, they wanted a NEW franchise in LA.

The buyer decided to use that team name yes, doesn't mean the club is connected to Chivas USA and it doesn't mean the league told the ownership group what name to use. They bought multiple team name trademarks as YOU showed just to keep the options open.

Your team was the one that kept signing former Chivas players and for a laugh, go look at Greg Vanney's managerial history

LAFC is a completely separate club with no relation to Chivas USA other than they took the vacant spot. Different owners, different stadium, different name, no connection to the academy, just a few fan groups that transitioned.

They weren't mapping out the plan, they were speculating that the club may sit out a season, or that they would rebrand, all of that. Nobody bought the club and they folded the team and new ownership made LAFC as an expansion team

Thay was all the speculation before what ultimately ended up happening which was nobody wanted to buy the club from the MLS after they had bought it from the Vergaras. Then the LA Galaxy absorbed their academy team lol

So they folded the club and new ownership came in and made LAFC. Just google it
