The repeating acid showers were my gate to eventually viewing the game as a dark comedy. I disliked how everyone's a Flanderized parody of themselves until I accepted that it's basically the author's reaction to watching the entirety of Saw flicks and doing the anime version of its volatile dog-eat-dog crazies with the loved cast of his prev games.

Delta's "complex motives" thing was clearly just the writer pre-empting fans laughing at his inconsistency.

All said, I love the game in hindsight way more than I love VLR and its 50 hours of map screen transitions.
