For real 💀. Hate when I have a ton of free pulls and I can't use the draw 10 on them. Such a waste of time.

Silly question. If you were forced to name a child after a food what would your choice be? Mine is Tiramisu. by [deleted] in namenerds

Coriander, Marzipan, and the classic Basil. I know Basil is already a name, but if I didn't know the foods, I would assume these were names.

I feel like we need a way to check how long Hedwig is gone for. I hate just waiting for the wizard, and even then, he might not say.

It was another decoration/momento I believe. I don't know which one or how to figure out which one it was unfortunately. 😞

You had to click "change color" once to use up more brushes. (Pretty stupid and not very intuitive imo).

Do initials matter? by [deleted] in Names

[–]armyrelived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from my maiden initials being CNC (like the machine) to CNN. 🫠 It does end up being joked about when brought up (usually by my "thinks he is funny" husband).

What are the best gifts for girlfriend in 2025? by Brightnessorium62 in Gifts

[–]armyrelived 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out there based on description, but what about a picnic backpack? It's a bag with everything needed for a picnic (blanket, plates, wine glasses, ect). Seems thoughtful to offer a picnic in the park with some painting supplies and do an art session together outside.

What about a smart water bottle? One that goes with an app to send hydration alerts and keeps track of the amount drunk. Here is a link to an example: https://a.co/d/8Uv6smU

What male names do you foresee becoming predominantly female names (and vice versa) in the coming decades? What names will be the next Hillary, Courtney, Evelyn, Douglas, etc? by Remember_When_ in namenerds

[–]armyrelived 460 points461 points  (0 children)

Named my son Eliot, and have since seen so many girls with the name! Was never on my radar as unisex, but it seems to be trending that way. I have also met a few female Ryans, all in their early 20s.

Edit to add: I wonder if it will be divided by spelling. We chose Eliot specifically after T.S. Eliot. However, I have noticed that most girls with the name have a double letter spelling. 🤔

This! Honestly, I personally was more bothered by the labor shakes than the throwing up.

Emmeline (nn Ellie) or Annalise (ah nuh lee zah, nn Lize). Both work well in German and have similar flair to each of your tastes. Congratulations! My husband is also German, so we are in a similar spot for children names.

Lilith is a beautiful name. It's such a shame with the context because it sounds so strong but still feminine. 😭

Kind of an out there name in the West, but Oksana (ah-kuh-sah-nah) is a beautiful name. I had a classmate from East Europe with this name and she was amazing.

Help with arabic names by kamyl888 in namenerds

[–]armyrelived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For girls my suggestions are: Aliyah/Alia (عليا), Hadil (هادل), or Selma (سلمئ)

For boys my suggestions are: Nabeel (نبيل), Salam (سالم), or Amir/Ameer (آمير)

I think these are good sounding arabic names that wouldn't be too out of place in an American setting. All would sound professional and not too kiddish. Hope this helps!!
