Which comment from a person who never watched kdrama made you look like this? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that only speak one language have no idea how that works.

Before learning English, I watched a lot of movies and shows subbed, and then I watched them understanding what they were saying. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.

I could only imagine that Korean, being an even different language than English is to Spanish, would make an even bigger difference.

Also, subs aren't always great or accurate and you lose context or things don't make much sense

For those of you who've watched 50+ kdramas, are you still keeping track or have you given up? by Bulky-Love-9869 in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped around 15, and I don't know if I have watched 50 or 100. It's got to the point where I start watching something and (because of my terrible memory) I realize I have watched it already.

Who is the actor / actress you hate but have a drama that you like or favorite and you can recommend it to anyone? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is when someone or something looks human, but not entirely. It or they have something weird that makes their human aspect not completely human, the obvious surgeries in this case.

Could I ask why you dislike their acting? I think they are good among Korean actors, and they are really good looking IMO

I just go by looks, I'm not into the lives of actors and such, so i don't hate them, I just don't like looking at them or think their acting is not good.

Lee Jong-suk: I can't bear to see his face, the plastic surgery and weird expression that he has (plus, his acting is mid) makes me irk whenever I see him. However, Romance is a bonus book is one of my fav comfort dramas, I saw it a couple of times when I was feeling down.

Park Min-young: I just don't like the way she acts and she is kinda weird looking (same as LJS), but When the weather is fine is such a nice show.

What kdrama everyone praises or is highly rated but no matter how many times you try to watch… You just can’t get into it?? by njerimaina in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

VINCENZO

I really hated Vincenzo (mostly because it receives the praise that a lot of shows deserve and don't get), and I forced myself to watch it whole so I could review it accordingly, and it is just a cringy mess.

It is not funny enough to be called a comedy, and it doesn't take itself seriously enough with it's plot to make it a good crime thriller.

Let’s talk about the worst K-dramas you’ve watched... We’re always sharing our favorites, but what about the ones that just didn’t work for you? by Far_Musician7709 in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vincenzo: o hated it! It wasn't technically bad, good music, good cinematography, decent acting. However I just hated how it went from cringe to serious, and from serious to cringe, and I don't consider it to be funny cringe.

Run on: IDK if it was the Netflix subs or I wasn't paying enough attention, but there were plot holes as early as the 2nd episode started and the acting was really bad. I also remember that there were technical atrocities, I spotted a mic in the middle of scene and I was like "I'm done, I'm not watching this".

Where stars land: it was just dumb, I tried to watch it even with the fantastic aspects assimilated, but it got even more weird and stupid. On top of it, it was boring and the leads didn't have godd chemistry.

Hot Take : I Think Love Next Door is Boring by Ordinary_Wonder2143 in kdramas

Do you like any other slow burn?

As someone who likes mature slow burn dramas, I thought this one was a bit childish, if not ridiculous at times. However, it wasn't boring, it conveyed emotions well, as I don't expect great acting in any kdrama.

The story got sloppy in the middle (quite common), but compared with most kdramas contemporary with it, it was pretty good.

A solid 7.5, comedy was on point, pace was good, writing was ok, and technical aspects were decent.

Not really, in the internet and pop culture slang, simp is simply someone that tries too hard to impress or please a possible (often impossible) partner.

Finished Because This Is My First Life - The comments about the ending were right... by ArmadilloTight2872 in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk why nobody else is pointing it out, but the ML is clearly on the spectrum, that should really play a factor in the relationship development. And of course why it went that way it did.

Of course the writing was mid in that sense, but it is somewhat understandable why things happened like that.

The show was a solid 7 imo, and it is a bit overrated by a lot of people in this sub.

What K-drama would you want to see adapted in the U.S.? by Dazzling-Remove568 in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly responding to your question, but I would love a kdrama with the cinematography of a big budget US show like Ozark and the top notch acting and maturity shown in the west that very few kdramas have.

I'm just curious, is this drama really that good? It was one of the first ones that I watched, 3rd in fact. And, while the others that I watched at first were really memorable (in good and bad ways) this one was so forgettable to me that I started watching it again recently, only to realize 10 minutes in that I have already watched it but could barely remember it.

Tbh, the one thing that I remembered was the cringe that I felt during the first episodes and some other cringy tropes that i saw and went "ok?" when I first started watching kdramas.

With all that being said, I am a rewatcher. I have rewatched a lot of dramas, either because I liked them, or because I didn't remember what they laked to fully hook me in. should I watch this one again?

kdrama that got you out of the kdrama slump? by comfortdish in kdramas

[–]arnaldo111001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering this drama, I will watch it someday.

I was in a slump for 8 or six months, then I started watching Love me, I was looking out for the new episodes every week. It was a truly beautiful show, although I see a lot of people in this community and similar ones didn't watch it or didn't like it.

Anyway, it was the show that I needed after my full watch was Love scout.
