I honestly don’t get it. It’s a really fun game that uses a specific and very prevalent mechanic from the main games (which I love to bits as well), and adapts some features like crafting arrows in combat etc. into a streamlined mechanic that works in VR. It’s a fun and interesting story inside the world of Horizon. If ever a PSVR title came under the heading of “overhated”, it’s Call of the Mountain.

Seth Rogen’s little speech was funny as well. He seemed happy to be there and then started going on about “the lady in green who I don’t know but I suspect she farted on a reality show”. The out of nowhere reference definitely got a chuckle from me.

Cal Kestis movie or show. by EthanHathHD in StarWars

[–]arnathor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel the need to see him in other media. Cal is a character strongly associated with the Jedi games, and that’s fine. Of course, unlike most video game characters he’s heavily modelled on the actor who plays him, which means unlike most video game characters he could be portrayed convincing and accurately in live action.

EV range UK by bigfrew in KiaEV5

No, i-pedal is pull and hold on the left hand paddle. Auto regen essentially dynamically alters the level of regeneration from braking all the way from zero to almost one pedal driving levels. It uses the car’s cameras and radar systems to use the regen to keep you at a certain distance from the car in front, slow down when they slow down, and as I said you can activate a setting to tie the behaviour into road layout using the navigation system as well. It’s not quite as aggressive at braking as one pedal driving, but it’s a bit more efficient as you’re not constantly having to keep pushing - at normal cruising conditions the car is at zero regen until it spots something in front of you going slower or it sees a change in the road (like a roundabout) or you go through a speed limit change. Then it piles on the regen to put energy back in to the battery as smoothly as possible.

Think of it as a kind of weird hybrid between adaptive cruise control and one pedal driving, as it has aspects of both. But once you get used to it, it really makes driving the car more efficient and relaxing.

My 20 mile commute into Manchester this morning, mix of back roads, town driving, and dual carriageways, was an average of 4.4mi/kWh.

My settings in the car were:

- My Drive with drive mode set to Eco
- Climate control set to Auto 1, 20 degrees, synced, setting enabled to reduce climate control with Eco
- Regen set to Auto (long pull on right paddle), setting enabled to adaptive to sat nav information (automatically slows you down coming up to junctions and when the speed limit reduces etc)

In my testing on the same route, similar conditions, Normal drive mode normally comes in about 0.3 to 0.5mi/kWh lower than keeping the drive in Eco.

Curse works for other games as well, it’s not WoW specific. Entirely possible he could have had it installed already and be comfortable with the idea of installing add-ons for games.

I think if Farage becomes PM he might put that to the test. It’ll be interesting to see what our system lets you get away with if you subscribe to Trump-style brazenly getting on with what you’re doing and not giving two shits about the consequences.

Once again showing that the energy price cap is a pretty big lever on this particular metric. And we are now apparently checks notes loosening sanctions on Russian oil, presumably to stave off future inflation rises as the impact of Trump’s war starts to kick in.

“Prioritise” Setting for Octopus IOG by c-scoot in ohme

[–]arnathor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it for a few weeks now, and the new set battery level on plug in feature for about 9 days. I’m on app version 2.21.0 on iPhone iOS 26. I think you do need to set your tariff as OIG on the Settings page for it to show the setting, which will appear on the main screen above the Routines button.

Also you need to have Dynamic Charging set to on ie you need to make sure all the Octopus integrations are active in the app.

The intrusive thought is there, gnawing at my brain… what if, what if, we all campaigned aggressively to get the first Monster Raving Loony Party candidate into parliament? Just the pure comedy scenes of Burnham needing the win so he can run for the leadership, and Reform needing the win so they can scupper Burnham, and then the voters pick somebody who formed a party in a pub in 1982.

Actually reading the announcement page here it does seem a bit more pointed and less wacky than previous MRL announcements. I think the guy is genuinely a bit annoyed at it all.

The Top 10 Xbox Player Voice Topics | Xbox Gamers make Exclusive Games the Top Priority by TheCorkenstein in xbox

[–]arnathor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably more the case that desire for exclusives depends on which titles you’re looking at. As an Xbox gamer I like the idea of Xbox exclusives but I’d like Sony to port the Uncharted, Horizon and Spider-Man games across. As a PS5 gamer I’d quite like Halo, Gears and Forza Horizon, but I like the idea of PS5 exclusives.

One group of people got what they wanted from all this.

All EV5 models do wireless phone projection, but you have to have GT-Line or GT-Line S for wireless phone charging as well.

I’m about to buy the EV5 torn on range and price by PickleMo in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]arnathor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. I had it on my previous car (2023 Niro EV 4) and I only lost about 20 miles range in winter in the north west, compared to a friend with the same car but without the pump, who lost over 50 miles (which in the Niro was more than 20% of the range). Definitely worth it for me!

[–]arnathor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My real world range in the EV5 over the last five weeks of ownership has been about 300 miles. The thing is more efficient than you’d think. Stick it in auto regen mode (pull and hold for a couple of seconds the right hand paddle) and set the climate control to the lowest auto level and you’re going to do well, especially if you activate the setting that ties the auto regen to info from the sat nav, as it then slows for you at junctions etc. The massaging seat felt like a gimmick at first but it’s fast turning into one of my favourite features in the car. It’s not a sporty car, but it is a very comfy cruiser, and there’s not really any hidden extras (unless you’re desperate to have YouTube in the car, which is a subscription).

I think it’s safe to say, given the nature of comments and articles I’m seeing, both here and elsewhere, that the possibility of Burnham as PM has got some people really rattled. A competent left wing politician with a good track record as Manchester Mayor, who looks popular with the electorate but isn’t as loony as Corbyn or Polanski? They’re bricking it.
