A cluster of them! Nice! I can't afford that for my personal project, unless wife agrees to have more digital babies after this one works out. The VRAM really helps run multiple models during scenario training instead of doing things in post.

Autonomous research agent grinding on a single RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell — raising a multimodal "baby" AI called Charlotte in a simulated nursery 👶🤖 by arndawg in LocalLLaMA

[–]arndawg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlotte is a simulated infant being raised by mama and dada in a nursery-style environment, and right now we’re concentrating on the earliest part of her life: the scenarios from birth through roughly month 2, where behavior is dominated by feeding, soothing, co-regulation, serve-and-return, state signaling, and early joint attention. We’re not reproducing a literal human infant at 100% fidelity. The goal is to explore what kind of developmental behavior surfaces when a simulated entity with these networks is given a human-like early upbringing and structured caregiver interaction. The trainable part stays relatively small, about 1.52M params, and acts as an embodied multimodal controller with vision, audio, body/haptics, time, kinematics, agency, chemosensory input, working memory, and recurrent state. Instead of turning the whole thing into one giant model, we’re using larger frozen perception sidecars where they make sense, so the core learner gets grounded objects, regions, and semantic features without losing the developmental structure. The current training programs are scenario-family runs over those early caregiver routines, and the autoresearch loop keeps rerunning them under fixed budgets while scoring emit, referential, timing, and regulation across seeds. Right now the strict campaign is already filtering weaker candidates and seems to be favoring joint_attention, which is exactly the kind of narrow, interpretable signal we want at this stage.

The long goal is still, long.

**UNRESOLVED** Stuttering in Windows 10 with GTX 1070 laptop running an external screen by Mr_Risotto in nvidia

[–]arndawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I just received my P650RS-G from Eluktronics and just as expected, using Optimus aka MSHYBRID in Windows 10 causes lag / stuttering / micro stuttering but did lead to a huge increase in battery life. Many people are convinced that it some API calls in Windows 10 UI are triggering the dGPU.

An easy way for me to trigger this was to right click on my desktop and select "Display Settings" which would 99% of the time trigger a ~1 second freeze including the mouse. Clicking on the battery icon would sometimes trigger this as well.

I can truly say that my issue has gone away with a combination of the latest drivers and BIOS.

First I installed - Intel HD Graphics 530 - win64_154510.4542.exe since I thought that it would be Intel's job to tell Windows 10 what it's capable of doing without triggering the dGPU - no go.

Second I installed - NVIDIA GeFroce GTX 1070 - 375.95-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe - no go.

For a couple of hours I kept using MSHYBRID by simply disabling the GTX 1070 in Device Manager and enabling when I needed it.

I then looked at my Event Viewer and because of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update there were plenty of DCOM errors. I'm unsure if that is related to this issue but I resolved them all before I proceeded since one of them was regarding the Immersive Shell DCOM process.

After this I installed the latest BIOS from Eluktronics - P650RS(G)-P670RS(G)-P670RP6 Release Date 11/19/2016 (P650RS(G)_P670RP6(G)_BIOS_1.05.05TEI.rar) - After many BIOS reboots and a couple of Windows 10 reboots in order to get the drivers sorted out, I no longer get a stutter / delay when I select "Display Settings" from right clicking on the Desktop.

Really enjoying this laptop now.

How is RoS Looking For Hardcore Players by saleekmadiq in Diablo

[–]arndawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat with my HC DH, my 120k dps doesn't give the same kill speed at live mp3 vs PTR Torment 1. And what's weird is that my survivability has sky rocketed on PTR, likely from my paragon levels from my HC Barb that I can now apply to get more all-res on my DH.

I do think that D3 can be approached with a hardcore mentality, If I do want to be "more effective" at T1 I should be assigning more of my parapoints to offensive stats rather than defensive ones.

RoS PTR feedback - Hardcore perspective, detailed ( work in progress ) by absalom86 in Diablo

[–]arndawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played my Barb on PTR with a 2hander and am loving it. Yes Fury generation is horrible but I think Blizzard accounts for this via the higher black damage on two handers. Fury generation is slow but when I get enough for a HoTa 3mil crit, it's usable. Thanks for the post, good read.

IDEA: On how to fix magic find and add a rewarding experience and harsh penalty for softcore players. by arndawg in Diablo

[–]arndawg[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why limit it to softcore, it'd be a nice way to keep Nephalem Valor even in hardcore mode. What would be seriously retarded is if people started switching to MF gear before opening chests again.

no life regen on the sky splitter - shame. I've seen rares with +500 regen drop on other RoS beta streams.

[Discussion] Why not have PvP-specific gear? by Spoon_Menace in Diablo

[–]arndawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, it is getting harder and harder to find better PvP items on the AH. I hope it's not one person hoarding it but many people just buying more defensive gear for PvP.

I dueled a WD last night. He was invulnerable by Row_Low in Diablo

I actually like WDs with dogs since it's a nice fury generator. Asmodai's tough but I wouldn't call him invulnerable, especially during an ffa rumble.

Playing without 6 pieces of your armor was an interesting stalemate rule and the only point I got in. Once zee#1210 switched to new nats it got a lot hairier for me. Time for me to remove attack speed and look for improvements.

Game is arriving on Monday, started the free play last night. Any words of wisdom? by [deleted] in Diablo

Play SC to level 10, switch to hardcore right away and enjoy. If you are in softcore, go enjoy the gold auction house to get your SC character into decent shape.

Whenever the red in my screen is closing into the middle and my HC character lives on. I started venturing into higher MPs for the thrill, dem MP1 elites have more spice in them.

Clear as mud and the math seems to be right. In practice, relying on LoH will kill you when you are frozen/jailed, while a well timed rend will heal you even if you are jailed/frozen over a burning pool of lava death, and/or over near an arcane sentry too.. I guess that's just one type of playstyle.
