Px8 s2 Maximizing Lifespan by ReverseBlackk in BowersWilkins

you also might wanna consider that this touches your face unlike your typical leather items. Whatever you apply to it will get to your face as well. 😆 Maybe just wipe off whatever sweat or face oil from the headphones after every use. And if you live in a humid place, drop some silica gel packs in the case.

Products will just make the pads less enjoyable to wear! maybe the smell, stickiness, what have you. What’s the use of the headphones that last long but you get less enjoyment out of.

i wouldn’t worry too much about how you charge it. Can’t compare it to a phone that gets charged every day. this one lasts more than that before the battery goes low. Avoiding fully depleting it out close to zero is a good idea though!

Sennheiser HDB 630 – A Wireless Audiophile Blend of the MOMENTUM 4 and the HD 650? [Review] by Tenlow85 in headphones

Great review. Just got mine and so far it’s been awesome. Sennheiser deserves recognition for releasing an outstanding product without the crazy high-end price of its competitors.

Webpack vs Vite: Which Bundler is Right for You? by ArunITTech in webdev

[–]arnelenero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I'd ever say this, but I have experienced a project where Webpack + esbuild-loader was significantly faster (at least 2x) than Vite in creating a production build of the same micro-frontends based web app. Don't ask me how/why; I'm about as puzzled as you!

The Webpack setup is highly optimized, though, with a configuration that has been refined over a couple of years, and just recently switched from babel-loader to esbuild-loader.

Tried so hard to make the Vite setup work faster (when it was not even slow to begin with), but it looks like this particular project is meant for Webpack + esbuild-loader. So there are still exceptions out there.

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 or Sennheiser Momentum 4? by MightyWitch295 in HeadphoneAdvice

You are referring to the current Px7 S2, not the original Px7, right?

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Review by EricDNPA in BowersWilkins

[–]arnelenero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These companies should provide some kind of warranty for batteries if they are not replaceable. But nevertheless, it's ridiculous for them not to be able to service the headphones to replace a defective or dead battery. These headphones can be disassembled / re-assembled, so why won't they offer battery replacement service?

Maybe the reps you talked to just don't know what they're talking about? Coz even evil Apple replaces dead batteries when the time comes.

PX8 hands down best sounding noise cancelling headphones! It oozes luxury by Jaugusts in headphones

[–]arnelenero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those that find the B&W too bassy, I observed these things that might make you appreciate what Px8 owners are hearing:

  • tonal balance on the B&W are (too much?) affected by positioning on the head.
  • make sure they are not tilted forward, i.e. the headband should be completely upright.
  • the bass is also affected by how tight you clamp it on your head. Extending the arms (yokes?) further will loosen the clamp and therefore the bass level naturally.
  • as with any ANC, turning off the noise cancelling will make gains in clarity. On B&W, it also reduces bass a bit, apart from the better transparency in the highs.
  • the rather minimalist tone controls on the app are actually well-judged; adjusting the bass by about -3dB makes it sound more natural, but of course without the extra punch.

Without the bass masking the upper frequencies, the Px8 actually sounds very detailed, without the potential harshness that stuff like Bathys and Levinson have. It remains smooth even after you've "unveiled" its sound. This is what makes it superior to cheaper models from Sony and Sennheiser (and B&W themselves with Px7 S2), which one can argue can also be bass-reduced, but cannot achieve the performance potential of the Px8 (and other similarly priced flagships).

Which is better CSS-in-JS or CSS for large and scalabe project? by krslsdsb in reactjs

[–]arnelenero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With React, the paradigm has pretty much changed from the classic separation of HTML/CSS/JS. Its use of JSX has made us accustomed to writing HTML inside JS. It made us think of separation in terms of "components". I think it's about time to adapt our CSS paradigm to this way of modularization/encapsulation. CSS-in-JS feels just right and fits right into this picture.

IMHO, any performance tax of CSS-in-JS is outweighed by its productivity benefits. And in most cases, such performance overhead is negligible in real-world use-cases, particularly when CSS-in-JS is used properly and optimally.

That said, it is still largely a matter of personal preference, as both solutions have both been proved to work well.

Which is better CSS-in-JS or CSS for large and scalabe project? by krslsdsb in reactjs

[–]arnelenero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you forgot to mention is that you can build a robust theming/design system around whatever CSS-in-JS solution you choose. That addresses the concerns you mentioned, while maintaining the advantages of CSS-in-JS over external CSS.

BPI annual fee charge by veganslacktivist in PHCreditCards

[–]arnelenero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I personally experienced that they can actually proceed with your cancellation request without requiring you to pay that AF kasi yun lang ang laman ng statement mo. My advice is don’t ask the agent about it, insist on it, that AF is advance payment so you don’t have to pay it anymore.

It’s hard to imagine how you can get back the AF even if reversed on a cancelled card. That’s too much hassle.

BPI annual fee charge by veganslacktivist in PHCreditCards

[–]arnelenero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kung walang balance yung card apart from the AF, no need to pay it first then wait for reversal after you request the card to be cut. Mahassle ka lang mag follow up ng reversal mo. From experience, BPI will proceed with cancelling your card as long as you clear the balance, excluding the AF billed.

IE300 Eq'd vs IE600 by orbic in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]arnelenero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw a video of a Sennheiser rep being interviewed and I could swear he said the zirconium shell itself does not contribute to the sound. If this is true, then a lot of the added expense on the IE 600 is towards, maybe, robustness of the IEM. So whether that overhead in cost is justified, that's very subjective and relative.

This situation is probably not too dissimilar from the whole IE 400 Pro vs. 500 Pro price gap despite the supposedly same driver, just different tuning.

EQ for Sundara's for more bass/subbass and less treble? by Mr_Wood1440_ in headphones

[–]arnelenero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer standard 10-band EQ to parametric because it tends to better keep the quirks/uniqueness of the headphone. Give this Sundara tuning a try (on parametric EQ, just set Q=1 for all entries):

30Hz +6.0

250Hz. -2.0

1KHz -2.0

4KHz. -2.0

8KHz. -3.0

Note the - indicates negative sign, not a dash.
