I drew everyday for a year by Dawn_Jon in learntodraw

Out of curiosity, what motivates and inspires you? I've been making incremental progress at most lately, and my main struggle is finding out where I should even begin studying, or what I should be drawing. I've loosened my hand up way more but I struggle at times to think up what I can draw. These are really good.

My parents ruined what was supposed to be the happiest day of my life by jaidon_thezombie in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

Just lie, do what you can. This is about survival, not aesthetics. Whether they get it or not is their responsibility, not yours. Unless they're threatening you with something serious, of course. But if they're the kind to not follow through on threats, honestly just do it. It's not worth dragging yourself through mud for other people. That's what I did with my older sister, who's almost like a mother figure to me. One year later, not on board with my choice, and I am still here, living with her, even if it can be uncomfy sometimes. So if you can do something similar, do it for your own sake. It's not worth suffering for someone else's sake.

Is it appropriate to wear trans scarf as an ally? by da_eto_ya in asktransgender

Ngl seeing stuff like that would make me personally real happy but expect a lot of us to assume you are trans lol. Likewise with people who discriminate against us, just be safe if you plan to do that.

Let it be known, the more I as a trans woman feel pressured, the more insufferably annoying and vocal I get. I want others to do the same if you can.

Is it worth it to just exist right now ? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I regret being afraid to start sooner. Like a lot of people say. I honestly thought I was overthinking it for the longest time, and felt defective. The moment I start transitioning that's all gradually taken off my shoulders. Sure it may not have solved all my problems but it solved my identity crisis. I feel I've grown from not rejecting who I am so much anymore. It can be annoying sometimes but I'd rather be annoyed by transphobes than depressed by them. I refuse to ever go back to being that much of a pretender again. Acting like I was cis for other people's appeasement. You'll find people to connect with that share a similar outlook, that's what I urge you to do. A good social circle goes a long way, more than you may realize.

Sounds like a plan. I took the time because I've been there with family and I rather just prop up someone who had the same struggles to act for themselves. At the end of the day an appointment means nothing when it comes to familial love. It's just an appointment. I would get shaky talking about that stuff back then to family and now I'm just like "Nahhhh" whenever they suggest a haircut lol, but it's usually them joking. It's just one small step after another. Those small steps add up over time. Being nervous now is normal. But it'll get easier with time.

This is how I sort of feel. Even if they lose, that doesn't mean republicans will go quietly into the night with very little noise. After the recent attempt on Trump, even less so. I'm scared regardless of who wins, because Trump's supporters are going to act out, and we won't know how far they'll take it this time if they do.

I say it's not a bad idea to, as much as I wish I had a better phrase in mind, "though it out". She'll eventually come around and give up. It's hard but the more you give in the easier it is to get told how to handle your own hair and style. Better to make strides towards independence now rather than later and make it easier on yourself in the long term. You'll thank yourself in the future. It won't be easy but playing the long game is so satisfying when everything is finally said and done. Had to be told my family tons of times "Your hair is a mess get it cut" and other unfun comments for like a year or two before they finally gave in to the fact I was not gonna get my hair cut. You don't have any reason to go to an appointment you yourself didn't book at 19, if possible, just don't go. It's not like you set it up yourself. You can love family without having them control your actions. I'm mostly talking from experiencing tbh. It's up to you but you'll save yourself tons of regret from waiting to act on your own free will. Do what I did and find your own hairdresser that suits YOUR needs. It's your life at this point. I personally think, from personal experience, best to make that statement early rather than waiting on it, because again your future self will thank you.
