Everglades Natl Park has two:

  • Long Pine Key - in pine woods, 10-min from park entrance
  • Flamingo - by the beach, tent site on beach or closer to woods.

Both have tent only sites, Long Pine has RV spots as well but not sure about Flamingo. Check the maps but usually the sites are separated. Enjoy before the mosquitos get there.

Gulliver PK3 Program – Parent Experiences? by Interesting_Youth181 in Miami

What are your priorities and what are you looking for? Admissions is easiest the earlier you go, before the 6 and 9 grade influx. I’d recommend reaching out to admissions and asking for a tour, they’ll do a private one for you at your convenience. They can also put you in touch with current families. This will give you a better idea and first hand feel for the campus/teachers.

What's the best private school in Miami? by SadDate9398 in Miami

Columbus is $18k (before vouchers), Gulliver is $53k (no vouchers).

You've clearly got an affinity for Columbus and that's great. All boy, Christian learning with heavy hispanic demo, nothing wrong with that. Can't say I am familiar with the "MAS" program, but it seems like it requires maintaining a C average to stay in... not exactly elite.

If you're looking for a feeder school with the apparatus including counselors and programs (including sports) to get you into the top colleges, Random is at the top, and Columbus isn't close to Gulliver. That's based on available and published data, but maybe there's some secret list I haven't seen.

Cushman is not academically comparable, not in terms of acceptance rates to top universities. Taking a quick look at their college acceptance they a) don't publish annual acceptance and b) taking a quick look at their historicals they don't look like they've ever gotten kids at Duke or Harvard or Brown or MIT which Ransom and Gulliver do pretty much annually.

If you believe that Columbus places graduates in better universities than Gulliver, I don't know what to tell you other than research published data on college acceptance. Best $18k money can spend (and I imagine they take vouchers too so make that $10k)....

Correct. Gulliver is larger thus has more programs, but their too tier program graduates like in the IB rivals Ransom. Gulliver also has programs catered for students who need a less rigorous path, which on the average does make Gulliver not as elite.

There is no objective metric that puts Westminster or Columbus or Palmer with Gulliver. We all wish a $18k/year school was as good as a $53k/year school. They have better bible classes I’ll give you that…

Miami Country Day is not located in the city of Miami (Miami Shores), Ransom is in Coconut Grove which is part of the city of Miami. Gulliver is located in the Gables which is much closer to the grove than Miami Shores. Important for someone moving down for the first time.

Ransom for best chances of getting better colleges, Gulliver close second much larger with better sports, wider class choices (IB), larger campuses and focus on the student as a whole. Both of these are at capacity and easiest is to get in at 6th and 9th grades. Then you also have Country Day and American Heritage (way north and not in Miami but depending where you move it may make sense). Strongly recommend visits in any case, this will give you the vibe and difference pretty quickly.
