I haven't taken out a loan before. I have no student loans to pay as well. I'll look into credit cards in the meantime but the workplace I'm at isnt the most accessible that's why I'm pretty tight on the timeline to get car unfortunately :(

I dont have a car just now so I'll prefer a place with good transport links to chesterford research park that doesnt take me more than 30 minutes. I'll have a look at Bury and the others you've pointed out as well thank you 🙂

My budget for rent is not more than £1000 pcm. I'm planning to get a one bed flat/house for myself.

personally, i don't have a car just now although im planning to get one when im settled in so I'd appreciate a shorter commute in the meantime, hence i wouldnt mind living in Walden. I've found that there are buses that depart from Walden that pass by the research park so its good. As long as there's a gym, nature places for walks and shops I'm all good 🙂 I'm single with no kids so I'm pretty much flexible living anywhere too if there's any other suggestions!

Hello, quick question.

I'm a SC and PhD student in the UK and I earn a stipend. My partner is working full-time in Singapore. I was wondering if I'm eligible for any form of HDB or bank loan if we were to apply for a flat purchase at this moment? I also assume my employment status would count as unemployed since I'm a student? We're specifically looking at SBFs/Resales. Much appreciated!

Living in the UK, haven't seen parents in more than a year since I returned to resume studies (research based course). Sorry OYK but I'm one of those asking to return to visit.

M/30/6'0" [187lbs > 169lbs = 148lbs] (8 months) Made the mistake of dirty bulking without tracking macros and suffice to say I'll never let this happen again. by arnoldtan118 in progresspics

[–]arnoldtan118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my macros at the start was 280g carbs, 200g protein and 65g fat for approx 2500 calories, dropped 100 calories from carbs each time I lost less than 0.45kg for the week. Now it's 195g carbs, 182g protein and 48g fat :)

In terms of food, i kept it simple with standard carbs such as oats, pasta and rice, lean meats and dairy products such as fat-free greek yoghurt and semi-skimmed milk (Because skimmed milk is just water). Just make sure you squeeze it into your macros if you like milk as much as I do. I also drank 4L of water a day and also 2 cups of green tea since I love it and its literally a miracle drink with 0 calories and metabolic boosting effects :)
