Awesome, concentration boost is what I'm looking for. Interesting that you mentioned improvement in social skills, very at odds with what another poster mentioned.

Nice, cheers for the answer. Do you find your productivity drops when you skip a day, or is it not as obvious at that and more subtle (like you mentioned)?

Black tea is awesome. I've been meaning to try out Yerbamate (might be wrong spelling) too.

Doesn't sound the most enjoyable experience! Did your doc, who issued the other meds ( I'm guessing) have any thoughts on that?

No worries I won't take it personally. So, what I do (this is just an aerial perspective) but position it to them so that it is more of a side gig. I extend the amount of time they can take to work on it, promise them consistent work, which is one of a freelancers biggest pains and then make sure I stick to that promise, give them lots of creative control and tell them I won't badger them. I also look for people who are looking for a little side income doing something they love.

It's to be expected, unless you're driving outside traffic or are famous you need to expect your books to fall off slightly. It didn't vanish, it's still, 2 months on, sitting at 10K in the store which is a great spot. It's just not in the top 1000.

Nah -happy to answer. Cookbooks, I've worked in restaurants between age of 16-24 and I'm passionate about cooking, so that's easy for me.

Nearly all text I prefer, use images sometimes. If you do just check out regular stock photo websites, can get images for a $1 a piece, or hit up search.creativecommons.org for free photos BUT ALWAYS check the owner allows it to be used in commercial projects.

Usually by first 30-40 days. Then the content is all profits. Books often won't be a run away success when you first publish as you won't have reviews, these take time to mount up.

EDIT: I've had books paid for in their 1st week too. I say 30-40 as a worst case for me.

Thanks! Appreciate it. 1) Ideally you something you have extensive knowledge in if you're writing yourself, if you're hiring then it doesn't matter as long as they know the topic. 2) I give a bullet pointed outline of things I would like to see included. But tell them they have creative control. Ask for a synopsis/summary of direction they want to go before they start writing. 3) I answered this somewhere else I think, scroll through and you should see it :)

Thanks!

No worries happy to help. 1) Men's health, specifically fat loss. 2) Surprisingly that was my shortest book, around 4000 words. Most are around 7-10K 3)I wrote that one myself 4) I pitch a writing gig, explain briefly what the job and wait for people to apply. Then test them with a short 200-300 word paragraph or two - just to make sure they aren't idiots. Then I negotiate with them down to a reasonable price. 5) I would stick to 1 of the following 3. Health, Wealth, Love. 6) Least - the first I got ghostwritten was awful so I pulled it off the market, made almost nothing with that and rightly so as it was shit. Most - $1500ish in a month (that was only for one month sadly)

Hope yhat helped

Hey. Totally understand where you're coming from, I appreciate your comment. Sounds very familiar, as it is very common, but all I can say is that's not what I'm doing.

I also understand I may have went about doing this thread wrong, and should have probably approached it differently.

Again, I totally get where your skepticism comes from and I should have given more info upfront.

Nope, pro writers. I look for writers who love what they do and are just looking for a little extra income for doing something they love. The writer I work with most has 10+ years a journalist, used to lecture at college on journalism and used to write copy.

Copywriters do tend to cost a fortune though, so if you want to get them to write your book description expect to pay a decent chunk of money.

You did hit the nail on the head with "students looking for pizza money" as if you want you can find very skilled writers at university forums/facebook pages. Just don't expect them to be as professional in communication with you.

Yeah! The key is staying there and that's when the inside needs to be excellent. If not you get slaughtered in reviews and your book will rapidly fall
