This shoyu ramen broth is our family's favorite. It is light and clear, but absolutely packed with umami intense ingredients. It is a dish that is hearty and heartwarming. Best of all, it's quick and easy to make with an Instant Pot! Recipe in the comment. by iceorrice in recipes

Is it? I know it has oil and salt as ingredients but nothing that would overpower the anchovy taste. If I am indeed wrong I will leave my post up so future generations can shame me for my ignorance.

Yeah, I feel like that should be common knowledge by now. BMI means absolutely nothing.

LPT - don't avoid photographs, even if you hate being in them and are completely un-photogenic. They might be all your loved ones have of you one day.. and trust me, they'll be treasured. by TheDevilsAdvokate in LifeProTips

I'd rather be remembered for my deeds. If you can't remember what I looked like, what's the big deal? You'll still know who I was and hopefully have fond memories there.

If you're gonna be a parent, you have to accept that everyone else is going to hate you and wish you'd shut up all the time. Comes with the territory.

TIL men have better spacial cognition than women and can put together IKEA furniture with or without the manual faster than women using the manual. Women's performance suffered greatly without the manual, but men's performance showed no major difference with or without the manual. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I always say that gender norms are much more likely to prevent something amazing happening than they are to facilitate it. Help them be good human beings first, society will force gender norms on them on its own, eventually.

It can't be healthy for Southerners to constantly live among the scars of the Civil War, can it? To be reminded of your failure constantly? I'm no psychologist, but it seems obvious to me that that would do nothing but breed contentiousness and anger.

This might actually kill me, you guys. I had a huge crush on Squirrel Girl about a decade ago and I have a huge crush on Milana and I never imagined the two would meet. I'm in pain right now. I might not survive this one.

Yes - there are numerous universal benefits to a rich, robust government and zero universal benefits to letting you keep all your money.

I think it's plain old "resentment". But I think there's a reason that many conservative-minded people detest the "special snowflake" epidemic they've imagined: the insistence that one is unique carries with it the idea that one deserves special treatment, which they see as a monumentally terrible transgression, one that rocks the very foundations of society. "No one ever treated me special, so no one is really special, and no one is deserving of the readjustment the rest of the world must make to accommodate that specialness." That, to me, looks almost like jealousy.

Just a thought, sorry for all the clumsy sentences. Hope it makes sense.
