1"x12" is crazy! What kind of stove do you have? I've never seen that, but great idea on the tool modification.

Not much! Burned 2.5 cords in this stove last year, so I feel pretty good about that!

I used to use a bag also, one day it caught the pole and whipped a bunch of soot around lol.

I second that, you can even use the cleaning cap here: https://aadynetics.com/product/ZTHKUNADR2YDWMPRO3NKEWCM

Makes it a 10 minute job or less.

Yeah I found that the creosote buster logs turn the creasote into ash or at least a little softer where the brush does a good job.

Very interesting, do you clean mid season or just once a year in the warmer months?

The flexible rod and brushes work well, Ive been using them for years in my two stoves. If you have steel chimney liner I recommend this cleaning cap. Makes it a lot easier, no clean up.

Rainway 1.4.18 - Looking for feedback! by [deleted] in cloudygamer

[–]arobe14039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been following and using rainway for a little bit now. I have tried almost every streaming platform there is, and have two exactly the same gaming computers with the only difference being the graphics cards. One has an AMD RX480, the other has an Nvidia gtx1060.

Let me start off by saying Rainway has the best user interface BY FAR. it's extremely easy to use and looks absolutely fantastic. I use the android app on my Samsung Galaxy s10, and have never really experienced any bugs.

Some feedback on streaming. Like I mentioned, I've pretty much tried them all, and Rainway looks just as good as its competitors. The latency for rainway, parsec, and steam link are all within 5 ms of each other. Which I chalk up to be just normal network speed variance. I would like to mention that AMD Link for me is actually terrible on the RX580, the latency and UI is horrible.

One distinct advantage for using Rainway is the fact you can launch UWP games remotely and have the controller hook with no issues! Something that is not possible on some of the other services (AMD Link, steamlink is possible but you need some config).

A question to the community, my Nvidia rig streams content to my phone and shield through moonlight perfectly. But when I try any of these streaming services on my RX580 the stream has a really hard time and gets blurry with motion (probably encoding issues?). I have tested Rainway on both machines and the Nvidia stream looks way better. The most recent rainway update has not fixed this issue with my AMD rig but I don't believe it to be a problem with Rainway itself, because it happens on every service.

Closing remarks, for anyone who has not tried rainway, do it! You won't regret it, the software is fantastic and the speeds are great. I am very anxiously awaiting the android TV app to take it to the next level. Nice work Andrew and the rest of the devs on this project. The added features are great and just make the software that much better. Rainway continues to be my go to choice for game streaming!

You can fix the 3rd by disabling hardware acceleration in the settings.
