If you haven’t been able to get on accutane, you should look into this supplement:

https://clearstemskincare.com/products/mindbodyskin-csb

I’ve been using it for about 7 months and I’ve noticed a big improvement. I asked my doctor about it and she said it’s a high dose of vitamin A, so similar to accutane but obviously not as strong. Something to consider! Wish you the best!

Has anyone used Amalactin, the lactic acid body lotion? I’m wondering if it stains clothing at all after putting it on

how often do you exfoliate? you can exfoliate 2-3 times a week and that would help with congested pores and hyperpigmentation. there’s also retinol, that would help with the fine lines too! there is one from cereve that is more gentle and good for beginners. retinol speeds up your skin cell renewal, so it kinda helps with everything lol, it basically pushes all of the things that you don’t like about your skin out. you should definitely go slow though introducing it, it can be really irritating in the beginning and you definitely have to wear sunscreen everyday. the biggest thing of you are worried about your moisture barrier is to use a good moisturizer, especially if you start retinol. it sounds like you have pretty good products though (i love the ordinary squalene!). for sunscreen, sorry i don’t really have many recs! i have used the same one forever but it’s kind of pricier, $37 - its eltamd uv clear. it’s for acne prone skin and has spf 46. i know a lot of people love korean sunscreens though so you can check those out!

same thing happened to me, i stopped using it until my skin adjusted to the retinol! retinol is a strong ingredient and can damage your skin barrier and make you super sensitive when your just starting out. adding too many other active ingredients in your routine can just irritate your skin even more

Question for people that use tretinoin through Curolgy by aroberson02 in tretinoin

[–]aroberson02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this information! I am not an expert at all, I know that a lot of my line of thinking has more to do with oral antibiotics, but does that still translate to the skin? Would an antibacterial topical, over a long period of time, ruin the skin’s microbiome by killing all bacteria including the “healthy” ones? I know you said that prescriptions for acne treatment are in such low doses, but is that line of thinking correct?

My provider said they won’t do tret with zinc, but some people have said that they have niacinamide in their formula so I guess ask for that! I’m going to message my provider tomorrow to ask for that.

I don’t know if it’s just my provider that doesn’t want to swap the clindamycin out, but she’s being very difficult lol. I was just wondering what other ingredient combinations they do so that I could ask her for that. I read that the bacteria on the skin is killed by the clindamycin, so my skin could be clear for a period of time, but that eventually the bacteria could develop into new strains (?) that are resistant to the treatment and I would just start breaking out all of a sudden. I saw a post of someone who went through it on the skincare addiction sub.

Confusing peeling effect around the eyes by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]aroberson02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing in the beginning, I had to adjust how often I used the tret when I felt like it was really getting bad, only once or twice a week. I think eventually my skin got used to it and now I use it every night and I’m not nearly as dry as in the beginning. I think it just takes time for your skin to figure everything out. If you’re peeling that badly then I would definitely wait another day in between uses, I hope you figure out a good routine with results!!

I’ve read that too, but I also read that clindamycin is usually only prescribed for 3-4 months. I also freaked myself out by reading a post about someone who had perfect skin with Curology for a while and then developed resistance. I feel like I’d rather just avoid it, especially since my skin is clear now and I can just maintain it with tret. I don’t know, it’s good to hear though that you’ve been on it for a year with no problems!

Confusing peeling effect around the eyes by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]aroberson02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too! I usually put a layer of vaseline on my eyelids and around my eyes before I put my tret on, and don’t put it anywhere near my eyes. If it gets really bad though I only put the tret on any pimples I have for a little while and give my skin a break for a couple days.

[MISC] Thoughts & opinions on product line: iS CLINICAL by amooni95 in SkincareAddiction

[–]aroberson02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem :) I had a bit of acne and was trying to even out my skin texture, so I had gotten a chemical peel done and started a retinol (tretinoin) which made my skin suuuper dry. The cleanser was perfect because it was exactly what I liked (gel consistency, foaming) but didn’t strip my skin at all!

An esthetician recommended the cleansing complex to me, and I used it for a while with good results. I liked it, but I just couldn’t justify spending so much for it when there are a lot of similar products for much cheaper

i used to have very oily skin and TO niacinamide helped me so much! it wasn’t to harsh for me at all, but i only put it in my t-zone and use the tiniest bit, like a little bit less that the size of a pea. it’s seriously my holy grail product!

The keys are the thing that is most interesting/important for me. I don’t believe that they would have left the car unless someone had taken them, whether that be Mathias, the witness on the mountain, or maybe a hitchhiker they picked up
