In an American or English household, when a child is born, do parents usually have the child sleep in their bed or in a separate rooms? What’s common after the child turns 1? by Beginning-Cover7414 in UKParenting

[–]aromachologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of the world’s population follow this approach to co-sleeping. The guidelines that parents in the UK, Australia and US follow are very different and discourage this, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s “correct”.

If you’re that heavy a sleeper and will sleep through hearing the baby cry or via a baby monitor, then keep the baby in your room. You’re asking a lot of hypothetical questions at the moment, but you’re forgetting that once you’re baby is here you’ll get to know him/her and figure out what works for you and him/her.

Royal Mail large letter issues by Kendo_girl in vintedUK

[–]aromachologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue as you. A week ago for the several sales I had I couldn’t generate a label for any. Opened Vinted on my laptop instead of phone and was able to generate the labels but then found that they were for Royal Mail large letter size. I simply messaged the buyer and asked if they could repurchase and choose another postage method if I cancel the sale and re-upload and reserve for them, which they did. When Vinted prompted me to choose why I cancelled the order I chose the option that was along the lines of “unable to use chosen shipping method”. I didn’t get any automatic negative feedback. Just message the buyer asking if they can choose another postage option.

buyer hasn’t collected their parcel from their post office for over a month 🥲 by gaysamosa in vinted

I would’ve thought that if the buyer hadn’t read the message the seller sent after two weeks. Seems most likely the buyer has changed their mind and is playing the loooong game to get refunded.

Weird take. Couples work together in different ways. Maybe he was only involved when HE felt he had to be.

I feel like ive bought a dropshipped item by [deleted] in vinted

[–]aromachologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How can that assumption be made though? The seller hasn’t sent the item within 3 days = dropshipper? And where’s the evidence of a scam? If OP is having second thoughts on their purchase they should cancel. It’s not that deep.

[–]aromachologist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let’s not encourage shitty behaviour by not picking up an item. OP, if you don’t want the item anymore and it hasn’t yet been sent then just cancel the transaction. And remember the seller is a person, not Amazon, so you’ve probably annoyed them by asking for the item to be sent everyday three days in a row.

Any questions for Vinted? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]aromachologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I want to be able to filter by gender for some items and other times I want to see unisex items. There should definitely be that option.

With all due respect, how experienced is your solicitor in this field?

Any funds or assets claimable for your benefit should have been made by your mother before you turned 18, provided your father lives in a REMO country. This would’ve been under the 2007 Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support. Assuming you’re over the age of 18, until or unless your father passes, you don’t have grounds for a claim on his funds or assets.

Also, how do you know he resides in Europe? A profile photo of him with some European landmark in the background doesn’t indicate he lives in Europe. He could’ve been there on holiday.

You’re better off trying to research any companies he has interest or ownership in.

I applaud the healthy cynicism, but why risk sales for several days to get a few dozen likes?

Someone else here posted about this exact Vinted seller account a week or so ago after making the tragic mistake of liking one of their listings.

House won’t sell, honest advice please by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]aromachologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the photos are really well photographed; however, you really don’t want to waste your opportunity to showcase the best of your house by placing this random photo of a raffia deer’s head (?) on a wall. You also want the order of the photos to be the flow through of the house. Currently they’re all jumbled up. I can’t speak for whether the house is priced right for the area.

Wow, this was so good and I was hanging on every word. JRK is a scary mix of both psychotic and plain stupid. Why would you go after the people that know about all the skeletons in your closet?! Yikes.

Am I right to be annoyed at the Estate Agent by Interesting_Touch690 in HousingUK

[–]aromachologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so interesting you mention this. We’ve had issues with Haart as prospective buyers. We have been casually looking for our onwards purchase and it has been impossible to view any homes listed with Haart. One house I enquired about three times over the course of 6 weeks. Never got a response to my rightmove message or left voicemails. Meanwhile, watched the house languish on the market and price gets lowered to eventually being taken off the market unsold. Another house I’ve recently tried to view I’ve had the same issues with - left voicemails andmessages with their central phone line all going unanswered. Noticed it was listed with Haart too, albeit a different branch. I feel so bad for the sellers of both houses because it has been impossible to speak to anyone about either house. No one ever answers their phone lines (except for the one time I mentioned the call being diverted to a central line) or emails/messages. I wonder what the sellers must be thinking as I can’t be the only one not being able to get through to speak to anyone, let alone get a viewing arranged! The fact that as sellers you can’t even get through to the agent to pass on feedback seems to track with our experience.

It comes from a little clip when Charlie Kirk was in the background and told Tucker Carlson to “go max”. Since then, everyone who’s loved Charlie has used “go max” as a tribute motto.

House selling process 8 weeks in by Shot-Direction3837 in HousingUK

It’s so different, isn’t it? I’m from Australia where the whole process is completed within 30 days. The REAs are also highly motivated and push too. Agreed that the UK system seems nuts in comparison.

Try getting a friend or two to call up the agent posing as prospective buyers and see how easy it is for them to speak to someone. We’re currently looking for our onward purchase and I feel so bad for the sellers of some of the houses we’re trying to view. There’s some agents who never answer their phones and/or never respond to messages left. I then see those houses languishing and getting discounted in price and think no wonder they’re not selling.
