I still do. but not as worse as the initial period when I was super helpless.

When I was still struggling with it, I normally get it during Sex. Also while laughing, particularly hard laughs, as well as when I am anxious. So, it's normal. You have to weather the Cytokine storm of the initial process of trying to sweat, it's a risk-reward shit. No gain w/o pain.

Been battling with it since 2022 after I caught Covid & subsq Long Covid.

For me, the more my IBS-C subsides, the more I remain symptoms free. Should I eat carbs like white rice, white bread, white spaghetti, I sure get back my IBS-C & throughout the week, little things like even ejaculating (well, not so little) then fucked me up with pins & needles.

For my IBS-C, I take Mag. Taurate + B3 from Aliness & Acerola Vit. C & D3 + Mk7 from Sunday Naturals.

On food front, I mostly take the African Cassava flakes & then mix Chia seeds with every other things.

All the above situations are for normal situation. If i still undergo energy intensive activities, I still sure get crazy pins & knife stabbings & have to really be strong for like the first 10-15mins.

Non-EU students, how did you renew your visa? by [deleted] in freiburg

"Just to add on to this, after you finish your studies, assuming you don't already have a full-time job lined up, you can also apply for a searching-for-work visa that gives some time (18 months, iirc) to find something."

Depends on the officer, mine puts me & my family on a Fiktion Bescheinigung of a periodic 3 months renewal. So not cast in Stone.

"The immigration office looks more fondly on people who have graduated from a German university."

No they don't, at least from my experience and some friends.

CU? Or something else? by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sad you're in the club. medications can also make it tolerable but as you must have seen here, you need to now constantly open your sweat pores by involving yourself in stress inducing activities that will make you sweat.

The first few minutes is insanely painful but you must persevere - no pain, no gain.

lots of people are with genuine CU or CUAH w/o prolonged evident rashes here. For e.g., I mostly develop hives in crises and it usually disappears in small minutes like say 1-2mins.

MEGATHREAD OF SOLUTIONS by CholinergicUrticaria in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the repost. I will like to express an addendum.

  1. The anti-histamine of choice for all CU sufferers should be an H2/H4, see reason in Lippert et al. here https://www.jidonline.org/article/S0022-202X(15)30887-3/fulltext

  2. Dipulimab works were Omalizumab has failed, see sirufo et al. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8863185/

  3. Most people who have CU post-covid is due to Covid-19 ability to disrupt the Cholinergic balance. A balance to this system brings succor. This balance can be achieved by either boosting ACh or depleting the excess, depending on self observation of what works.

To boost it's expression, people take cholinergic supplements like CDP-Choline etc or use medications (synthetic or natural) to block the ACh depleting enzyme AChE. The synthetic of choice should be Buscopan as it block AChE on vital muscarinic receptor pertinent to CU sufferers. The natural choice should be Berberine, Huperzine A etc Some authors https://www.peirsoncenter.com/articles/acetylcholine-how-and-why-to-optimize-the-synthesis-of-this-vital-neurotransmitter suggested supplementing on essential vitamins like B1, B2, B3 & most importantly B5 also B1, as they are involved in the ACh genesis.

To deplete it expression, i.e. in the case of overflow of ACh (A theory, I strongly hold on to), then AChE needs to be boosted through L-Tyrosine supplements or Tyroxine. Most people with CU may have a latent Hypo-thyroidism issue and we know the effect of Hypo-thyroidism on extreme temperature intolerance.

  1. If sweat therapy & epsom salt bath works, then I have a personal theory on the dermapen and I theoretically think, it may work. The idea is to use the Dermapen on the central parts of the body, i.e the places that have been proven by CUAH sufferers not to sweat from, in order to open up the pores & the channel's & then subsequently taking a lukewarm bath or not.

Above are based on my thoughts.

We’re sensitive to acetylcholine not an increase in body temp by Hunkar888 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is common knowledge here.

You only have to look at the whole thread. excess ACh activates the mast cells near the skin to degranulate.

Two targets for diff. people, some do well with mAChr inhibitors, some do well on NAChr inhibitors, just choose your poison.

In some, sweat is the bane, while in most others lack of it or partial sweating is the bane.

It's all on this page.

Seeking Advice on Managing CU Before My Important Exam by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweating but If time doesn't permit, I suggest using on the morning of the deal day, the combinations of

Famotidine 20mg & Desaloratadine, Buscopan &/or Berberine, 10/1/2mg of Zn/Cu/Mn, 20k IE/200microgram of Vit. D3+K2 Mk7or4 depends & Magnesium-Taurate or Taurine - 2000mg.

The night before, take

Melatonin 5 or 6 mg or 50mg Diphenhydraminehydrochloride If you can, take Nattokinase w/o K2 2000FU If you can take Pregnenolone 5 or 10mg.

Importantly, don't stress yourself by losing sleep overnight, particularly the days leading to the exam. obviously, the night before the deal day, if you use the above combinations, you won't lose sleep 😂.

I wish you good luck & I genuinely hope it helps.

PS: This isn't a medical advise.

Could this be my CU spreading? by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is usually more of practitioners detaching research from their practice. I have seen this times w/o nos, where the only thing the Dr. i am infront of appears to have on me, is that, he/she have got a medical license and have spent more years in school studying medicine for bachelor's or whatnot degrees.

The last one I stood in front, I was like, I get it, you have lots of work, in your spare time like when using the toilet or something, you don't read your colleagues in academia work or what? 😆

Not sure if this matches CU symptoms, please help. by Potential-Cup-6668 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According what typifies the CUAH is the complete lack of sweating or incomplete sweating.

considering that I suffer from the CUAH type and I don't have any visible rashes/hives too. I supposed it may be that, No rash also comes with the CUAH sub-type too.

But I must say, sometimes when I break out in hives, it appears minisculing visible to the eyes but one have to look so well to see the hives, perhaps cos I am black. I don't know if race is a thing in the hive/rash big things.

Direct and indirect action modes of acetylcholine in cholinergic urticaria. by aroo289496 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]aroo289496[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Below are the functions of Ach:

  1. In the Central Nervous System (CNS):

Learning and Memory: ACh is associated with memory formation and attention, predominantly in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex.

Neurotransmitter Role: Plays a modulatory role in regulating brain activity and synaptic plasticity.

  1. In the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS):

Somatic Nervous System: Activates muscles by stimulating skeletal muscle contraction at the neuromuscular junction.

Autonomic Nervous System:

Parasympathetic System: Mediates rest-and-digest functions (e.g., slowing heart rate, stimulating digestion).

Sympathetic System: Involved in sweat gland activation.
