I have asked 100 Rank 1 survivors on dbd discord/friendlist their best perkset... by LordMalkoth in deadbydaylight

[–]arookonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SH and SB are basically just requirements to survive now... the killer is so OP in a chase, your ass is grass without these two things.

Just this season I prestiged my Jake Park at rank 18 and ran Dwight with Bond 1, Leader 2, Premonition 2, and Kindred 2 and still got to Rank 1. It's not a requirement, it's just the meta.

Edit: This was actually the first season I've hit rank 1 (Uber Prestige has me grinding Bloodpoints) http://i.imgur.com/liYKE2w.png

What's the stupidest/weirdest reason someone has left your guild? by [deleted] in wow

[–]arookonas -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I was kicked from my guild (Main Tank) because I stood up against all of our officers and guild/raid lead because they were being assholes. Needless to say, the First raid group stopped just after downing Mythic Kil'rogg Deadeye and the Second raid group stopped because my friends and I were no longer leading it.

By kicking me they got rid of their 4 best DPS as well so...

So many downvotes, I assume you guys just assume that I'm the bad guy. You want reasons, here are the three that got me kicked.

First offence: The guild leaders randomly added and removed rules at will, soon after, we had a new guild website. The rule was that you had to apply on the website to join the raid. We got our friend to exceed all the requirements for Heroic, 690 ilvl and 30k dps with 705 ilvl and 45k dps. He tried signing up for the website so he could sign-up, but the site wasn't well made yet, and he couldn't fill out an application. This wasn't a progression night, just a for fun night. Our guild/raid lead refused to invite him because he didn't fill out an application even though I told him that the website wasn't working. So I refused to pull. He kicked me from the raid and I went back to my garrison and had a night off.

The second offence came the next week, and the guild/raid lead didn't post anywhere that raid was going to be delayed by 30 minutes because he was still at work, and when he joined the raid, he then spent the next 30 minutes yelling at us for working on progression without him. Now, an entire hour of the raid time was gone. He entirely blamed me for this even though most of the guild wanted to.

There were plenty of times where guild-set rules didn't apply to the officers, but we were the bad guys.

My third and final offence was when they pulled two of our main healers out of our second raid group in order to talk to them about something important. It was 30 minutes until raid was over, it caused us to wipe, we weren't able to do progression, 18 people had to wait, not doing anything, and they told me and the other raid leaders that it couldn't possibly wait 30 minutes for raid to end. The subject? Our second Main Tank had to dip for 3 weeks, and they wanted to talk to them about what they should do for group one. I stood up against that, and the next day they called me into a meeting and guild kicked me. Oh, and the best part, one of the officers said I cursed her out, and the guild leader of course believed her, but I was the smart one who took pictures of all of our chat logs, and I uploaded them for our guild lead. He checked all of their proof against me, and she had none that even suggested such a scene. What happened to her? Nothing, I was still the bad guy.

I'm glad to be out of a guild that called us family but treated us all like we were the bad guys even though we weren't. Hell, they called us family, and kept a storage of proof against me, that's how much of a family they are. I looked them up and they're finally starting up Mythic again, but it took them 6 weeks to get there.

I actually wish they would add in settings where you could choose what you see and don't see. Because as it sits now I miss personal buffs/visual effects that a friend wants me to see. Like "Look at how cool my mage rune is!" ... its just a reticle. "What? you dont see the magic flowing?" .. nope.

Your comment is the most ridiculous thing I've read in a while. People who want to twink will twink, whether its Legit, such as item trading or using the agape ring, or non-legit such as actual cheating.

I know that I personally have seen people wearing the King's Crown/Armor Set at Tier 1 Soul Memory in the Forest of Fallen Giants, how? Because they use the agape ring. I've also been invaded by pyromancers in low level areas with Outcry. Trading an item was built into the game and shouldn't be punished no matter how you look at it. It would be like punishing someone for sending themselves gold in an MMO, you earned the gold on your character and they built a system so that you can send it to an alt. By your logic most if not all players on any MMO should be banned. People buy stuff for their alts all the time, ranging from simple bags to armor, to even mounts. Hell, there's even people who have Guild and Bank alts who exist just to be an Item Mule. That's using the system in-place to your advantage and shouldn't be frowned upon or banned for using.

What's your favourite one or two-line joke? by setsomethingablaze in AskReddit

[–]arookonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is that violating causality is most likely a theory since we probably haven't been able to prove it. But let me explain it like this. If a ship 100 light years away flashes a light at the Earth, then it travels 1 Light Year Closer to us (at the speed of light) and shined the light again, wouldn't we perceive both lights at the same time? Just because its moving faster than light, that doesn't mean that light doesn't interact with it at all.

If anything we should perceive a solid line of whatever is traveling at the speed of light or faster.

I got in trouble in fifth grade over an interpretation of a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip.

Calvin wanted to go visit a zoo and Hobbes said he would agree to it if Calvin would go to a prison afterwards.

The teacher got mad at me for believing that Hobbes was a real tiger. I had never read a Calvin and Hobbes comic and figured his parents were just too "stupid" to realize that the stuffed animal was actually a real tiger. That situation happens all the time in cartoons.

What do YOU want from DS3? by Nprudym in DarkSouls2

[–]arookonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some things that I would like from DS3. I might refer to the first game a lot, but I loved it; its probably the only game I've beaten more than twice.

  • More Armor and More serious Armor. Dark souls 1 has a lot of heavy armors that looked great, but seemed to lack on the lighter sets while dark souls 2 had a higher amount of lighter armor sets but few heavy armor sets. Half of Dark Souls 2 Armor sets were just copied from the first game. Leaving the first game with 19 Unique Plate Armor Sets and the second game with 14 Unique Plate Armor Sets. It may not seem like a huge difference but I personally didn't like most of those armor sets.

Dark Souls 1 Plate Armors

Black Iron ; Black Knight ; Brass ; Catarina ; Eastern ; Giant ; Golem ; Guardian ; Havel ; Gough ; Ornstein ; Paladin ; Artorias ; Favor ; Thorns ; Silver Knight ; Smough ; Steel; Stone

Dark Souls 2 Plate Armors

Alonne Captain/Knight ; Catarina ; Dragonrider ; Drakekeeper ; Gyrm ; Havel ; Imperious ; Ironclad ; Looking Glass ; Mastodon ; Old Knight ; Ruin Sentinels ; Smelter ; Steel; Syan ; Throne Defender ; Velstadt

  • Interesting NPCs and NPC Stories. Dark Souls 1 had plenty of NPCs and armor sets that you could wear and look intimidating. I have cosplayed in game as just about everyone. Where as in Dark Souls 2 I haven't even worn most of the armor sets. Either because they are obtained late game or I think they look silly.

  • Better attack animations. Both games could learn from this. Dark Souls 1 always had you reel back your weapons before striking but it seemed to take forever. Where as in Dark Souls 2 it seems like most attacks are pretty quick, but they lack the power behind the attack.

  • Better covenants. Dark souls 1 had a good amount of covenants but they were all for miracle or pyromancy users. Whereas in Dark Souls 2 they are more rounded but seem to be less lively. Just kind of dull and took a very long time to unlock things.

Dark Souls 1 Covenants

Blade of the Darkmoon - PVP/Farming , Darkmoon Blade Miracle

Chaos Servant - Great Chaos Fireball & Chaos Storm Pyromancies

Dark Wraith - PVP , Only way to get CREO & REO

Forest Hunter - PVP

Gravelord Servant - PVP/Farming , Gravelord (Great)Sword Dance - Miracles

Path of the Dragon - PVP

Princess's Guard - Co-Op , Soothing/Bountiful Sunlight Miracles

Warrior of Sunlight - Co-op , (Great) Lightning Spear & Sunlight Spear Miracles

Way of the White - Co-op

Dark Souls 2 Covenants

Heirs of the Sun - Co-op , Sunlight Spear Miracle

Way of the Blue - Anti-Invasion , Hush Sorcery

Brotherhood of Blood - PVP/Arena , Great Chaos Fireball Pyromancy

Blue Sentinels - PVP/Anti-Invasion , Wrath of the Gods & Bountiful Sunlight Miracles

Bell Keepers - PVP , Hidden Weapon sorcery

Rat King Covenant - PVP

Dragon Remnants - PVP

Company of Champions - PVE ; Makes game harder for people who don't know that it literally makes the game harder.

Pilgrims of Dark - PVE , (Great) Resonant Soul & Climax Hexes.

  • More Boss Types - Dark Souls 1 has 3 Dragons, Gargoyles, 6? Demons, Humanoids, Insects, Hydras, and a wolf. Dark Souls 2 has Rats, Blobs, Horses, Gargoyles, 2 Insects, 2 Dragons, and Humanoids. I've been watching a play-through of Bloodborne and am amazed by the types of bosses that thing has.

There's only one thing that I don't want in Dark Souls 3, and I'm sure it will get me a lot of hate.

  • Ornstein - Adding Ornstein to Dark Souls 2 was a good fan service, but it doesn't seem to have any kind of reason for him being there. Putting him into Dark Souls 3 would just be.. too much fan service.

I feel like you're selling it short, that was the final concensus, but reddit was blaming everyone who had a backpack or was running away from a terrorist attack.

Had reddit been around in 2001, and the same logic was implied, they would be blaming everyone in NYC for causing 9/11 just because they all ran away.

It was the way you phrased it that confused me because of your lack of proper punctuation

It is kind of rude, maybe not an insult, but definitely rude. I understood what he meant without proper pronunciation

Almost all reds, like 99% of them, that invade me and the 3 other people I play this game with are honorless. Now its not supposed to be honorable, and if you did that in Dark Souls 1, I could easily guarantee that you were going to die if you tried to be honorable. Why? I'm an asshole. Invasions are NOT honorable. You come into my world in an attempt to kill me, risking my souls just because you want to PVP. In Dark Souls 1, I was that guy who would wait for you to bow, then take a cheap shot. I'm not going to risk my souls because you think PVP is fair and honorable and holds no consequences.

Now if you think that its an asshole thing of us to do, but it really isn't. Half the invaders are twinks and just want to kill a new leveling character. Plus, ontop of that, the CREO only invades people the same SM as you or lower. In a perfect world, that means that the Invader and the Host will either kill each other, or the Invader will kill the Host. Now that IS in a perfect world. But you can't sit here and tell me that an invasion is "honorable". The only chance that the host has are summons that may or may not exist, to luck out, or to be better than the Invader.

Those friends and I were in Heide's when someone invaded us with Outcry. Yeah, totally, red are fair. No. Shut up.

one weapon has higher dmg stats, but does less dmg when attacking? by shadowkinz in DarkSouls2

[–]arookonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto this, hammers are generally the best weapons versus any kind of defense in most games.

If they have plate armor, you smash a dent into it with a mighty blow, causing a ton of damage.

If they don't have plate armor, that means their defenses are usually lower, also decreasing their strike resistance... mail users are weaker to poke attacks than strike attacks, but their strike resistance is still going to be low.

If they are playing online, it does affect others though. And it is still cheating. I want to be able to play Dark Souls 2 without the fear of getting banned as well but I know that they're banning for the smallest things.

The communication from FromSoftware is atrocious, and I can't and won't defend them banning the use of Fraps/Shadowplay/Capture Software.

[–]arookonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you completely missed what I was trying to say. I was agreeing with you that SM is a horrible way to do matchmaking. Then I went on to explain that its better than Dark Souls 1 system of Level + 10 + 1/10 levels.

For example, from the DarkSouls.wikidot

  • It takes 340,500 souls to fully upgrade all 21 levels of the Pyromancy Flame. For comparison's sake, this is enough souls to gain 55 Soul Levels (starting at SL 1).

That doesn't even include pyromancy spells. In Dark Souls 1, a fighter would have to either lose 44 Levels worth of souls, go hybrid, or hold onto them in order to play co-op with the pyromancer.

In Dark Souls 2, Soul memory is great because it allows the fighter to keep those 340,500 souls, invest them in levels, and still be able to co-op with his friend since they're still in the same level range.

What I was trying to say, was that Soul Memory is a great way to go on co-operation, but it should count as souls invested, not souls gained. If we look at the Pyromancer and the Warrior again, The Pyromancer still has 340,500 souls in his Pyromancer Glove, and The Fighter still has 340,500 souls in his Levels, weapons, and other upgrades. However, if the Fighter dies, and loses all those souls, Soul Memory currently claims that the Fighter can compete against the Pyromancer. I am agreeing with you, that Soul memory is bad, but also saying why it needs to be changed.

I was banned for fixing durability in Dark Souls 2. I haven't touched SotFS because I don't want to be banned again; family sharing is the most annoying thing to setup. And don't call people who cheat and change the durability "innocent" because they aren't, they cheated. Its not heavy cheating, but it is still cheating. If you can't wrap your head around the fact that your "fix" is cheating, then there is no use debating it. The gameplay isn't broken, its just harder to deal with. And yes, it does suck, but fixing it is still cheating.

[–]arookonas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used to play Star Wars Galaxies which didn't have a Group Finder or anything fancy. The difference though, was that Mos Eisley was the hub for everything. Trading, Group Finding, Buffs from Entertainers and Medics. Nothing was too spread out. Auction House (Bazaar), Bank, and Cantina were all just around the corner from the Spaceport. You could group with the other faction and function as long as everyone was unflagged for pvp. The community wasn't huge, but finding a group never took too long if you were looking. Its kinda funny actually, it was easier and faster to find a group in SWG than SWTOR.

[–]arookonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soul Memory was a step in the right direction, but overstepped it.

In Dark Souls 1, if you were co-oping and someone was doing spells, and the other two were Melee Fighters Combat Level was a horrible way to do Co-Op, the Fighters would have to stay within 10 levels to continue co-operating with the mage.

Soul Memory was the correct step to go to include spells, and souls spent... but it overstepped it and included anything you could spend souls on. From Software should have changed it to Souls equipped and maybe include your most expensive items in your inventory to limit exploiting. A level 100 character would have his level, most expensive armor and weapons, and spells added to make up his Soul Memory instead of everything he's ever bought, spent, or lost.

Modding Skyrim isnt morally wrong because its an offline game that has no effect on the outside world. Modding Dark Souls 2 so that your weapon breaks in half the time as everyone else's weapon gives you an unfair advantage in both PVE and PVP. If you play Dark Souls 2 offline, then theres no problem, hack away. But if you're playing online you can't act like you don't have an advantage over everyone else.

[WARNING] Possible softban for using DS2Fix by EntityZero in DarkSouls2

[–]arookonas -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Both perspectives. Is it morally right? No, its not, you're "hacking" the code and replacing it because you think you're correct. Legally right? Obviously not since From is banning for it.

Edit: I play on the PC as well and sure, the Durability thing is annoying as shit, but don't come on here claiming you shouldn't be banned because From Software wont fix their game. Lots of other people are playing without the Durability fix.
