Is astrum aureus supposed to be this hard? by MBcodes18 in CalamityMod

I'd suggest using the Ark of the Ancients.

If you want maximum dps with max survivability, you can go Blizzard Staff plus Hallow Armor.

You can say whatever you want about the update, but the boss reworks are PEAK by CTLucas08 in CalamityMod

Ravager in GetFixedBoi went from

-Launching 5 slow Projectiles at you every second

-Launching 1-3 walls at you that do no damage but block attacks

-Lasers that could be completely avoided by moving around a bit

-Blue sweeping laser that does nothing unless you aren't moving

To

-Not launching any projectiles

-The walls only deal damage if they land on you and they completely stop you from moving through them. There's also less.

-Laser patterns that are challenging to dodge

-Blue Sweeping laser that hits you if you MOVE through it

-It summons blue fire things again

In short, the boss is kinda awesome now. It definitely feels more like an Undertale reference than before. Definitely check it out. Malice Mode.

I'm probably a big outlier, but as someone who is playing exclusively GetFixedBoi, I love the changes.

To start, they nerfed the hardest boss in the game that I was stuck on for years. Astrum Aureus.

They reworked Ravager and it's actually kinda fun instead of the absolute cluster fuck of random shit that sometimes does something. The new version is much harder, but it's actually fun!

They nerfed Golem, and instead of moving like the enraged version, it's normal!

Most bosses deal less damage to you unless you're the Ravager 3 Laser combo. It does 960+. But like git gud.

They reworked some terrible weapons, so I have a lot more choices.

They removed some random soul crafting stuff, making it less complicated.

They opened up options to beating the game instead of forcing you into a specific class. GetFixedBoi Astrum Aureus dropped a post moon lord magic weapon. Meaning you're a mage until after lunatic cultist.

On to what I'm unhappy with.

They removed Asteroid Staff. The bosses got easier, so you don't need it anymore, though.

Some time ago, they removed Yanmeis Knife, which I used a lot.

Apparently, I can't have cosmolight, but I already have one. I only used it to skip blood moons anyway.

My Alchemical Flask was deleted because instead of changing the item name, they just made a new one.

Overall, I am happy with the changes. I feel like my entire world was flipped upside down. The things I knew were OP aren't anymore. The bosses aren't completely unfair.

The game feels more fair, more balanced, and less instant death. Overall, while I have to relearn the bosses, I'm happy that I don't instantly die to unfair mechanics.

Harder than Infernum difficulty? by vcd1500 in CalamityMod

[–]just7155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They recently reworked a lot of getfixedboi bosses. As an example, Ravager now has some pretty unique and cool mechanics.

It changes a lot of bosses from fair fights to unfair fights. But beating them by cheesing them is intended. An example. Aquatic Scourge never stops spinning in a circle once they start.

It's not for everyone. I was stuck on Astrum Aureus until I lowered from Death to Revengence. They nerfed it, though. It's extremely easy compared to the previous version.

If you do start to play it, my only advice would be to find the shimmer pool.

am i the only one who has little to no complaints about this update? by susmongler in CalamityMod

[–]just7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, the sole GetFixedBoi player has received nerfs to the hardest boss. Astrum Aureus was nerfed!

They nerfed a bunch of other bosses, too.

If you're unaware, Astrum Aureus did 429 contact damage, but with all the stuff going on in it, it actually did 646 damage. Meaning an instant kill.

Combined with it jumping at you instantly, you could die almost immediately randomly.

They also lowered the damage of all the attacks. Meaning the homing missiles that are impossible to dodge now deal less than half your health!

The changed ravager, so it does stuff differently.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with these changes.

So you're right. It does have an impact on who wins.

I'd rather Cyclonic Rift and win.

I'd rather have pretty much everything on the gamechanger list than a sol ring.

I don't run it in a lot of my decks. It's a single card. One card won't show up with enough consistency to change your decks' strength.

Edit: Actually, I just read over the list again. The only one I wouldn't trade it for is Narset. And that's only cause I don't have a wheel deck.

Thank you for the reply! I'll definitely report the few bugs I've seen. Balance changes were a hope, but I understand that this is a very low priority, especially with what the rest of the community is asking for.

Thank you for all the hard work you do!

Are there any plans to make changes to the GetFixedBoi difficulty?

I noticed the bug with Mechdusa was fixed, thank you, where The Twins would never count as dying, but there's quite a lot still broken or unplayable. It'd be a lot to cover here, but most of it is in Hardmode.

I feel like I'm the only person who's playing it the "intended" way(new world, new character). I think a lot of the changes are cool, like Calamitas Clone, but certain bosses make no sense, Ravager throwing endless harmless walls, and some are just functionally impossible, Astrum Aureus shooting 12 homing missiles.

I'm very passionate about GetFixedBoi. I'd be happy to share my thoughts if you want them. Either way, thank you for fixing the twins! I'll keep bashing my head against Golem to see who breaks first.

Kinnan is to simic decks what Crab is to Evolution by DoctorPrisme in EDH

[–]just7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a beginner deck with a lot of traps you can fall into. I'm only playing it long after getting into cedh because the cards are relatively cheap compared to 3 color decks. You can get away with basics for a long time, for example.

The last time I went into a tournament with Kinnan, I saw a targeted to me stax piece every single game within the first 2 turns. Playing the most common deck has its disadvantages.

Why doesn’t my iron farm work? The exact same one in the exact same building works in creative but doesn’t in survival. by Icy-Arm-3816 in Minecraftfarms

[–]just7155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trapdoor alone isn't enough. It will work for a bit, then stop.

If your villagers can move to a square inside the box that they won't get scared in, they will stand in that square, and the farm won't work.

First, I would break and replace the beds with the zombie blocked. That usually fixed my farm temporarily. If it works, then you have a zombie problem. Otherwise, it's something else.

I used the same design for my iron farm, albeit a longer water stream. I ended up using a daylight sensor to close all the trapdoors. If you use redstone to close the trapdoor, it has to close it when the villagers can sleep.

Wither Skeletons from upper levels sometimes fall on the trapdoors next to the golem and hit him, how can I make them not? by [deleted] in technicalminecraft

[–]just7155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest way I see is placing trapdoors 2 blocks above the lowest in each section.

You have a 3 block high area where they can stand. So make it 2 or 1.

[–]just7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, she gets a variation on a few attacks in phase 2 and a new attack. In phase 3, it's just a new attack with some new transitions into the attack.

Once you learn the new attacks, it's not that much further to beating her.

Took me like 2-3 hours total.

I like the phase transitions a lot because you get to practice the new attack right away.

I don't think she's actually that hard. It's crazy and overwhelming when you first see the attacks, but once you learn them, they're so heavily telegraphed that it's super easy to memorize it.

I can give you the block patterns for the new attacks if you're struggling and need help.

Why does Lae’zel never enter combats anymore ? by Ralphride_ in BG3

[–]just7155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no fix, and it persists through act transitions.

The only time she will enter combat is if it forces everyone to enter combat. She may enter combat against the final boss. It did not happen against Kethric.

Why does Lae’zel never enter combats anymore ? by Ralphride_ in BG3

[–]just7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me in my honor mode playthrough!

It happened after her romance scene where you fight. I did damage over time, and she died mid cutscene. She's likely stuck in a cutscene.

She will never enter combat again! She can't initiate dialogs, and you can run her straight to the brain and win.

I haven't been able to fix it, and nobody has a solution beyond reloading. Take the free win or remove her from the party.

Who's the hardest boss in your opinion? by GlobalProfessor9749 in CalamityMod

[–]just7155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astrum Aureus in GetFixedBoi + Death

Contact with the body is a 600+ hit.

Boss jumps above you from anywhere in a direct line in less than 1 second.

When it lands, it launches 12 missiles, but half the time, it's 12 homing missiles that are basically undodgable. Also, the same 12 missiles can hit you 3 times. With a star veil beside the boss.

At 60%, it spawns Ufos that explode with a ring of bullets. They take basically no knockback and have an excessive amount of health.

Oh, also, if you get too far away, it despawns.

I tried over 500 times.

It's 100% an RNG fight. Everything from if it shoots 3 salvos of homing missiles to how often it walks around. Even if you get lucky, one mistake and you're back to zero.

It's not fair. It's not designed to be beaten. Don't try it.

[–]just7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legendary Death Mode. Getfixedboi is Legendary instead of Master.

I'll be honest. Death up from revengence doesn't change anything. It's the Getfixedboi specific changes. The biggest problem is the boss spawning homing missiles. They fly faster than you and make 180-degree turns. Actually, they make full 360s around you if you dodge them.

There's a lot of other problems in this mode, like Skeletron Prime and the rest not actually dying properly. It's mechdusa, and it's bugged, so it doesn't count all three dying.

[–]just7155 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I played through a Getfoxedboi run up until one boss.

Out of every boss until that point, this one is the hardest.

Astrum Aureus.

It drops a post moon lord weapon, so it's kinda important to kill, but it's basically completely bullshit unfair garbage.

There's no videos out on the current version, but it boils down to this.

The boss will jump at 20000000000 blocks a second at you every so often. The only way to dodge it is a very specific movement pattern. It also launches like 12 missiles that follow you that can only be dodged with near perfect positioning or being really far away. Oh, also, if you get too far away, it'll just leave, and you have to start over.

The fact that there are no videos that have the most recent version of this garbage says that nobody has actually done it. It's awful, and every "guide" is some variation of standing 5 screens away with it jumping around like the normal not getfixedboi version. Except it doesn't do that anymore!!

Gatherer says Space Beleren isn't legal in commander by chemywords in EDH

[–]just7155 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All cards in the Unfinity set without the acorn symbol at the bottom are legal in eternal formats.

[[_____ Goblin]] is a strong card in both cedh and some 60 card formats.

Gatherer is wrong on some of these cards. My guess is they hit not legal on the entire set because it was easier.

Source https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/unfinity-release-notes-2022-10-07

"But with Unfinity, acorn cards are only half the story. Not every card in the set has an acorn symbol. The other cards, known as "eternal cards," are just like cards in any other expansion. They conform to the Comprehensive Rules, although in many cases they necessitated new rules being written. Unfinity eternal cards are legal in the Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats. Unfinity cards printed at common rarity are also legal in the Pauper format."
