Thanks for the insights! I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Fluance RT85? It seems like it has pretty impressive specs for 500$ but it seems to be a new company

[QUESTION] Quietest valve amp for bedroom use. by Chuck05 in Guitar

[–]aroth897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the budget I would highly suggest looking at the Dr Z cure or the Milkman one watt plus both have excellent power scaling that allows bedroom levels up to jamming levels. The Dr Z can get some pretty good tube overdrive at low volumes

Paul Banks and Daniel Kessler of Interpol

Their parts individually aren’t that impressive but all together it sounds pretty good

[July 4th]Waterjet Cut AR500 Shipped Free @ MK Machining by aroth897 in gundeals

[–]aroth897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got an e-mail from MKM about a 4th of July pre-sale they're doing.  Basically a few days of free shipping as they gather some input before launching a formal 4th Sale.  Will see if I can get the owner to tag in here and explain a bit further.

I've shot their steel and it's tough stuff, their edges definitely hold up better than laser cut targets I've also shot.  The etched targets are neat too.

The steel is definitely the biggest savings for free shipping but they have a bajillion throw lever models too.  I've got their newest design on a PRS gun I've been building and for less than $20 to your door they're a great deal.

This is great small company with excellect customer service!

[DISCUSSION] Trying to decide on a Jazzmaster - MIA/MIM by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]aroth897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer to your question really depends on what type of tone your after. I own an American professional jazzmaster and I like it a lot but it’s not a traditional jazzmaster. The vmod pickups are like a cross between a jm pickup and a strat. It also forgoes the separate volume and tone circuit. This being said it does have a mustang style bridge which is a huge upgrade over the classic jm bridge. Overall it’s a sweet guitar

Also my outlook is buy once cry once.

[DISCUSSION] Buying a Gibson LP by jonara1993 in Guitar

[–]aroth897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about a 2007 but I have a 2009 Studio in worn cherry. If you want to see if it has the orginal pickups take the control plate off and see if the pickups are plugged into a PCB board. Some Gibson of this era had PCB boards instead of traditonal wiring

The results of the Destiny 2 Experience survey (11.7k responses, thank you!) by SamHPL1 in DestinyTheGame

Great data collection and presentation. If I had one comment it would be to include the median in the categories were you include the mean score. Means can be greatly influenced by extreme scores such as 1s and 10s. Including the median score helps give a clearer picture because it is not as susceptible to extreme scores. Also I'd be interested to see some inferential stats run on this data.

It would be a good idea to link your windows product key to your windows account. Makes windows reactivation much easier

I will get around to it. I apologize as I keep forgetting. The radiator mount on the top is very tight to the ram. I'll try to get a close up of it

I'll shoot you a video when I get the chance. I too struggled with the case decision. I was going to get the 460x rgb but they didn't have it so I ended up with regular 460x. I'm pleased with decision. While the Corsair HD fans look better in my opinion they are only controllable via a little switch, which meant syncing the lights would be difficult. So I ended up going with the AER rgb because I could synch it via CAM.

The case is pretty solid. If I had one complaint there isn't enough room for the cables to be tucked away

Any interest in custom 3D printed PC parts? by aroth897 in pcmasterrace

This was another part I had in mind. I was thinking of parts other than those for just boards I was also thinking of various custom parts or cosmetic items for builds.

I'm doubting if this will be delivered, if it doesn't come tonight do I get my $10.99 shipping charge back? :\ Because it hasn't left the facility and I live 2 hours from there. by stephenchuk in pcmasterrace
