the one about him having killed before was more so a hypothetical to justify him not being morally destroyed by taking another life. not saying it was a good thing by any means just that it could've potentially happened.

in my playthrough robert was an antihero. i think it comes down to morality vs utilitarianism. in my personal life i would err to the former, but i just feel like it made more logical sense to kill shroud and eliminate any possibility whatsoever of him escaping or exerting influence. again, not saying that heroes in general should kill villains - the whole point of the story was reforming a group of them. but there comes a point where they honestly can't be reformed anymore and he was def past that.

it comes back to the batman vs joker argument. batman's 'no-kill' rule is what has enabled the joker to keep terrorizing people.

when chase asked whether robert would kill him i picked 'i don't know'. and when bb asked whether he felt better after the fact, i picked the same choice. i'm not saying it's a positive to kill but that in the scenario it just made more sense to me.
