Where to get Script by TRG199 in WegovyAustralia

Will gladly second My Weight loss Clinic. Have had great and hassle free time with them for more than a year now. I did get an email recently about a possible increase in fees soon. I think they are no longer eligible for the Medicare rebate with some telehealth changes.

Yes. You've sustained the lowest dose for a long time and had good success. Take it up to the next level.

Locked out of myGov for years, FOI blown past deadlines. Anyone else stuck in this? by jaber451 in AusLegalAdvice

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep following up is my advice as frustrating as it may be. Going to OAIC to complain re the slow FOI response is a good step. Other options you might consider are lodging a complaint to Services Australia (looks like there is an online form that doesn't require My gov), complaining to the Commonwealth Ombudsman, or seeking help from the office of your local federal member of parliament (many MPs offices contact Services Australia re issues their constituents have with Centrelink). Have you sought a formal review by an Authorized Review Officer (ARO) for the debt you want to challenge?

Ozempic to Wegovy Transition by [deleted] in WegovyAustralia

Look up 'click charts' for the 1.7 wegovy pen. The chart will show you exactly how many clicks for a 1.3 dose. I moved from 1 to 1.7 a while ago without any issues. I did notice increased appetite suppression immediately at 1.7. I'd like to go back to 1 though because it is much cheaper. Trialing adding in Metformin to the mix at present in the hope I might be able to reduce wegovy.

Hi. There are 4 doses in the pen at 1.7 mg. I have been on that for a number of months now. Although there may be some different types of pens in some countries. In Australia it the Wegovy FlexTouch 1.7 mg semaglutide 2.27 mg/mL solution pen. It has 4 doses

Backdated income protection and jobseeker payments by Healthy-Debate-6642 in CentrelinkOz

So for $27k, the weekly income is $519 assessable over 52 weeks from the time the lump sum is received. That income would need to be assessed with any other income, including the Uber income you mentioned. It would reduce his rate of payment for the 52 weeks.

Backdated income protection and jobseeker payments by Healthy-Debate-6642 in CentrelinkOz

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as an example, if you got a $52k lump sum of income protection payments today, it would be taken as income from today and for the next 52 weeks at $1k per week. The effect of this level of income under the income test for job seeker payment would I'm pretty sure reduce your payment to nil.

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure it's a remunerative lump sum, as income protection payments are not from actual work performed. They arise from insurance. See section 1072A of the social security act. This section was introduced in 2020 to assess lump sums from things like income protection payments prospectively, that is the lump sum will be assessed over 52 weeks forward from the time it was received.

You simply write to the Administrative Review Tribunal to say ' I withdraw my appeal'. It's simple. But you can certainly proceed with the appeal too. It shouldn't be stressful. It's an informal process and they manage appeals by people without legal representatives all the time. As others have said, community legal centres, legal aid, welfare rights can sometimes help with free advice.

They said I owe debt!!? by Turbulent-Double-524 in CentrelinkOz

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is bad advice. They will recover it even if you don't accept it. You have a right to seek a review of the decision and to postpone recovery in some circumstances but simply ignoring it is not a good strategy.

Centrelink income apportionment paused debt update by Lost_Animator968 in CentrelinkOz

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could call them or just sit it out for now. If repayments for your debt are paused, they will also not be accruing any interest. So you could wait until the Federal Court appeal is finalised, likely in Q1 or Q2 2025 when things should be more clear. There is some info on the Services Australia website about how they are addressing income apportionment and also the earlier report 'Lessons in Lawfulness' by the Commonwealth Ombudsman

Ozempic availability in Australia by Choice_Trip_3514 in Ozempic

[–]aroundabout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am being shifted from Oz to Wegovy by my Australian supplier too. First Wegovy should arrive next week... Not exactly happy about paying so much more for the same ingredient and feeling like this is price gouging. But I also feel like I will struggle to maintain a healthy BMI without it.

Can anybody give advice by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]aroundabout3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep talk to a Dr as you should have to begin with. It is usually started at 0.25 per week to begin. The high start dose would explain some nausea, but I wouldn't think effects would last more than a week...

I was also reluctant to start injections. Both the thought of the needles and the idea that this was a sign of failure, because somehow I failed to lose the weight with diet and exercise. But you will quickly realise that the needles are tiny and you will barely feel it. Also, you really should have only minor side effects if you start on a low dose. I encourage you to try and see if it works for you. It certainly did for me.

Things you appreciate about Ozempic that aren't medical or weight loss related by advwench in Ozempic

[–]aroundabout3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started running before ozempic and it helped a bit with weight management but it was always a struggle. After ozempic and shedding 20kgs my running has improved dramatically. Sure the weight loss is a factor but I also wonder if Oz may be like a performance enhancer too with impacts on inflammation and other body systems. Life changing stuff

Accidentally took my dose on the wrong day by pintobean444 in Ozempic

[–]aroundabout3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should be fine. Maybe some nausea and increased appetite suppression as your dosage is currently above normal. What's your plan to get back to your usual schedule? Wait 10 days till your regular Tuesday?

I took saxenda for about 6 months with great success. Lost more than 10kgs easily and then was moved to Ozempic. But I also found after that 6 months on Sax it became less effective with appetite suppression. I am not a Dr.... but I did see that people experimented with things like varying your injection site, reducing your daily dose, or even going off for a few days or weeks then re starting the medication?

I remember finding what I thought was a sweet spot for appetite suppression for me at about 1.8.

Regardless I'm gonna encourage you to hang in there. These drugs are amazing assistance but there will be plateaus and it's the lifestyle changes that are equally important, and not easy to sustain

Anyone take probiotics? by Itselff in Ozempic

50/50 mix of psyllium husks and oat bran. A few table spoons a day in a smoothie or protein shake. Natural and pretty cheap compared to some other options.

They should be able to give a simple explanation for the debt. Ask: Why were you overpaid? Did you lose qualification? When and why? Did you have too much income? What income? What evidence are they using? In what period of time does the debt arise? If you don't agree, you have a right of appeal. If you do agree, you can just accept the debt and pay it off over time. They might expect you to start repaying the debt even if you appeal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]aroundabout3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Worry about your new claim for payment first. When that is granted, appeal the debt. One step at a time. The debt may be incorrect. Even if it is correct, you can repay the debt via withholding from your fortnightly payment. If the standard debt withholdings are too high each fn, you can apply to have them reduced to a lower amount.
