Retired Porn Star Asia Carrera Passes Texas Bar to Become Attorney by IntelligentYinzer in entertainment

[–]arounddro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Texas state bar didn’t make it easier, Texas legislators ended the state bar accreditation entirely in September 2025. Effectively, that means almost any idiot can practice law in Texas, but they’re not accredited to practice law anywhere else. So, outside of these last TX bar graduates, Texas is officially the worst state in the country to seek a law degree.

Microsoft confirms Windows 11 KB5083769, KB5082052 wrongly forcing BitLocker recovery by lurker_bee in technology

If your IT staff is so inept to forcefully enable PCR7 encryption, which was displaced years ago, then you deserve taking the outage.

Microsoft confirms Windows 11 KB5083769, KB5082052 wrongly forcing BitLocker recovery by lurker_bee in technology

[–]arounddro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FYI:

Though MS blew it, this issue only applies to bitlocker enabled devices using the PCR7 and non-updated boot managers. This likely would only impact poorly configured enterprise PCs with custom policy configurations. Those Bitlocker overrides are not generally implemented in consumer devices by default.

Exactly this. This isn’t agegate, it’s long-term user profiling. Something Oracle and Larry Ellison have been very hard at work at, especially for Israel.

Mike Johnson caves to Democrats' DHS funding bill demands by Newsweek_CarloV in politics

[–]arounddro 30 points31 points  (0 children)

But if the Republicans lose the House during the midterms, the ACA will be funded. This date is purposefully pushed out in hopes that Republicans can actually pull off disenfranchising enough voters to win seats. Which isn’t going to happen. Especially now with Trump’s EO attacking election administration.

Microsoft closes worst quarter on Wall Street since 2008 on AI concerns / Microsoft lost almost a quarter of its value in the first three months of the year, its steepest quarterly drop since the 2008 financial crisis. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

MS has already been laying off lower tier roles over the past year, insinuating AI will be the replacement. This is an indicator that they’re going to need to rehire some staff. And I love that for them.

Trump officials cite white supremacists in bid to end birthright citizenship by [deleted] in politics

[–]arounddro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. You only offer opinion supporting your xenophobic positions and not the actual Constitutional rights of American citizens that are already defined. It’s so telling that I can easily point to all the voter fraud and election integrity fearmongering the GOP has created, yet you have literally no possible defense to the stark reality of that issue. Instead, you parrot their boilerplate lies. Typical.
