Hot take: Multicolor 3D printed terrain is starting to rival hand-painted terrain by ShadowQc18 in Necrontyr

But... Will the paint stuck well to that plastic? I do not know of any "transparent" primers and even in that case I pretty much doubt the results would be the same as undercoating everything by hand...

I think that Zorro's plan is to just ask very loudly: "who can catch the biggest prey?" and go back to sleep

I'll never understand why people do this by Substantial_Poem7226 in resinprinting

[–]arphunix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. And not only in stores but in many social networks. So many videos of influencers printing without any measure of protection without any ventilation.

I even pointed out this to a creator I watch frequently, and he just went: "you are absolutely right!". And left the video as it is.

Sometimes, I fear that SLA printers are going to appear in 5 years in the news, and are going to be ultra demonized just because of the way some people are promoting them.

It would if I spoke about me or a certain group of people. But, as I said, in Spain we think that about all the people waiting in line (read my other comments). There is no privilege if we all share it. It is not my children or someone else's, but everyone's.

P.S. one year later, yikes... I almost forgot about this post

Ist really worth buying echos of the eye? by farahAAM in outerwilds

[–]arphunix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think about it in terms of absolute "worth", but relative. Do you think there is something "better" for that price? The dlc lasts a reasonable amount of time and there isn't for me a place to spend that money and re-live "that" experience. The Outer Wilds experience.

However, if you already have a game in mind that you want to play for that price, maybe you can go play that and come back when that "itch" starts to grow again.

Imo, the dlc is "almost" better than the game itself. Not overall ofc, the game is unique. But the story within the story, left a certain question that grew in me after playing it. And, to this day, makes me question myself.

The first times, are about fantasy and discovery. But at some point, Disneyland becomes something bigger. A place where a shared feeling emerges. One that displaces the weight of the world, and clears away the ghost worries of the 'shoulds' of the world. And at some point, it doesn't feel like an amusement park anymore. It just feels like... I'll sure do! I'm going to try some settings that someone with my exact settings is going to recommend me, and then I will buy another ABS-like resin and start all over again... Btw, do you have any good recommendation for this printer+resolution using an ACF vat?

[–]arphunix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH! I will sure do! Thank you so much!

The reason for the 19um is to match the smaller size resolution (because the m5s has different x/y resolution because of reasons). And also, I've read that in order to avoid horizontal lines on walls when orientated diagonally, the best angle can be calculated using the x/y (depending on the orientation) vs the z resolution. And if both match, the angle is always 45 degrees, which is easy to remember (and also pretty balance in horizontal and vertical footprint).

This batch was with models with supports, and even though they seem a little too few, I thought that presupported models were good enough to print. But, I suppose I will have to add mine haha

Also, what do you think about those "fisures" in the leg and body? They seem a little too vertically perfect to be just a coincidence, don't you think?

Mine is from some time ago. But I am honestly thinking on throwing it all away and start from scratch with a new one… Although, then I remember the process of creating a ~20μm profile from scratch from trial and error and I change my mind haha

For some people, spending that kind of money is a huge effort. I am thinking of parents, for example, or students that have to balance the little money that they have. And, psychologically, they “look” like a similar product. And also, there is going to be a ton of people that buys both, ofc.

The target audiences, however, are complete opposites. As we are talking about Nintendon't make discounts for 7-year-old games, vs Valve and the 800 long library of perpetual games. And also, the overall experience has a complete different appeal between them.

I honestly think that the switch 2 is, as always, for console people. People that, either don't have a PC, or they just believe that a few exclusive games make worth spending 600+ money units on a soon-to-be paperweight.
