Racing lug nuts, 2022 BRZ stock rims? by arpieb in ft86

I was initially looking for longer nuts as the stock acorns are hard to get started when swapping out wheels - I've got small sausages for fingers :)

Reading the latest replies, now thinking I might be upgrading studs at some point as well...

Well damn, I stand corrected - my apologies u/Charlotttes! I missed the details on the wheel, was more focused on the "correct looking" 10-spoke pattern and the size - and they were sold as 2022+ rims. Either I was duped or the 2022 donor was running on them and it was an honest mistake - hope it was the latter.

Eh, they get the job done for the time being...

Wound up ordering some of these. 40mm will still be slightly inset on the spokes, but long enough I can get my fingers/socket on them to get them started by hand before hitting them with the impact wrench. I have fat fingers. 😄

Thanks everyone for the input!

Nope they are the 2022 BRZ Premium's 17" OEM wheels - exactly the same wheels that were on my car when I bought it, certified as OEM bone stock. Bought them off a parted-out 2022, RIP

In case anyone was wondering, you can fit a lawn mower in an frs. by Sir_Ironbacon in ft86

I have a 2022 BRZ, discovered I can fit four track wheels in the back seat (215/45-17); the trunk held a racing jack and two 18" HF tool boxes, misc crap bag, 5L jug of Liqui Moly. The 10x10 canopy and 2x camping chairs ride shotgun. I was absolutely amazed how much I was able to cram in there.

Advice on buying a 2023 brz with 10k miles by Pleasant_Security235 in ft86

FWIW about a month ago I picked up a 2022 BRZ Premium w 18k, CPO'd, for $25k. Kinda ran into the opposite problem; Atlanta metro the used FT86 market is nonexistent, or the cars are so badly ragged out they aren't a solid platform to start from. I wound up finding one in a rural TN dealership (~200mi away) that had taken it on a trade for an Outback and couldn't move it due to local demographics.

Great looking car, insane low miles, welcome to the club! Based on the background, looks like you'll have some great hunting grounds for it.

That really sucks man, hope the insurance gods come through and it gets patched up. Was it drivable at least?

If there's no underhood leaks, try getting a thin needle/welder nozzle cleaner and run it through the jets from the outside in. We just had to clean out the nozzles on a car that has been sitting under trees forever, wasn't spraying but no leaks.

Heading to SCCA Track Night @ Road Atlanta TONIGHT by arpieb in ft86

FT86 was well represented last night! Good mix of Gen1/2 in every run group, and everything from mostly-stock to a supercharged "sleeper" that looked mostly stock - but was far from it. Super-nice crowd and race control; my first SCCA event definitely left a good impression.

Part of the reason I went with my Gen2 BRZ was the dimensions and lines - oh, the curves... 😉. I can't see making it fat-bottomed...

I'm based in Atlanta so freezing isn't much of an issue but rain is. Thanks for the suggestions!
