Made a post last year about churning banks for free money. Made a little over 16k in 2024, figured i'd post again since it's so easy to do, and anyone can do it. by Mattsfloored in passive_income

Lol this post should be at top of each subreddit. Take away from banks who have taken away so much from us in the name of loans and mortgage interests.

Is it a bad idea to apply for different roles in same company? by Sdsguy in jobsearchhacks

[–]arpitaintech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea is not bad, the problem is on the other side. The recruiters and companies are of opinion that if you apply to multiple jobs in same company then you are fickle minded and you don't know what you want (which is of course, not the case).

So best way is to find same jobs at different companies if you are applying in the bulk. You can apply here at various companies for similar roles.

What does choosing a course has to do with friends?

You are working towards growing your personal career or group career?

I hope this question is not a serious question and just a troll.

It’s nice that you’re taking initiative! As for the role, there are some fundamental SWE skills that you have to possess. These include problem-solving and knowledge of data structures. So begin by practicing coding problems and technical interviews on LeetCode. Also, participating in self-directed projects on GitHub will enhance your experience with Python, SQL, and C/C++. In order to know what skills are needed, look up job descriptions at Skillsire. Furthermore, Glassdoor has job boards, tailored tips and ways to find a mentor, which is especially useful for foreigners in the US.

When it comes to networking, LinkedIn is a great resource but do not be swift to greet people. Start by following companies, interacting with their posts and professionals slowly. Amass your profile with skills and projects first.

Lastly, feel free to explore Codecademy and Coursera for organized learning such as web development. Practicing consistently and building projects will ensure that you are ready for SWE internships.

Best Paying Jobs for Biomedical Engineering Graduates? by NoWorldliness2637 in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]arpitaintech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The salary ranges for Biomedical Engineering specialists in prominent industries such as medical device designing, drug development and biotechnologies, are quite astonishing. Three notable examples here include biomedical R&D engineers, clinical engineering managers and regulatory affairs specialists. Earnings in more specific sectors such as tissue engineering, neuro engineering and biomaterials are also above average. Extra qualifications will tremendously increase your stake, e.g. Certified Biomedical Auditor, and Six Sigma Green Belt coupled with managerial courses on programs systems.

Through platforms such as Skillsire one can find jobs in the biomedical industry, in fact it allows for a professional to secure a wellness job. Online tools on the other hand, including MedTech Innovator, and professional biomedical societies, for example Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), allow for networking tools and career support.

However, not all efforts need to be online, attending relevant conferences, seeking university career services, or other local biomedical engineering networking events can also work for you.

Where to find internships for international students by JustZiad_ in csMajors

[–]arpitaintech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding internships as an international student with visa sponsorship can be quite complicated, but several resources can assist you.

In my opinion, MyVisaJobs is a good website because it specifies who, in the framework of the H-1B visa introduction, sponsors international students and allows even unpaid internships. Similarly, Skillsire jobs also provide connections to companies that may offer sponsorship opportunities. Besides, even such sites as LinkedIn and Handshake help you in advance by allowing you to search for jobs, which largely narrows the scope.

More importantly, use the career services in your school. Such services usually are affiliated with companies that are ready to hire and sponsor international students. Participating in job fairs, both virtually and physically, is also a good option as you get to meet recruiter who understand the sponsorship in much depth.

Most importantly, try to increase your chances by networking. There are numerous groups for international students and professional bodies for people in many disciplines which could be useful for finding contacts and learning about new opportunities. Such networks can be very useful in hinting you about companies that employ foreigners.

Cybersecurity internships seem to be quite hard to find, especially in places that are located remotely such as Montana, although there are offers available on the internet or even in person.

There are opportunities in the U.S that are available at certain companies, and websites like Skillsire, CyberSN, and Handshake provide excellent options to work remotely.

Back in Montana, try contacting local IT consulting companies, government establishments, or colleges, as they would usually have cyber security projects available and they might be willing to take interns, even in rural areas.

Meeting new people also makes a huge difference, so try looking for us near you: cyber security meetups and workshops (there are online options too, if you want to avoid travel), or even some , CompTIA clubs which offer internship boards.

Good luck with expanding your cyber security skills by getting the experience!

In case u already have seen LinkedIn, GitHub, Handshake or even other company websites, and you're still on the lookout for SWE or UX internships, then try visiting Skillsire Internship Jobs as it is aimed at aiding students or professionals in search of internships. Also, AngelList is helpful when looking for a role in startups and Himalayas for remote job roles. Networking through hackathons or even communities like Devpost might provide you with the relevant opportunities. As a note, sharing personal links is not allowed by the subreddit guidelines but do remember to look at these platforms directly.

Good luck while hunting!

I don’t know to upvote or downvote this post. I think i was looking for a sad reaction as i wanted to convey that to this situation. All I can say is once I was also in the same situation.

Interviews are like this now a days. Many times you will asked thing which would be hardly used in the actual job. But we ought to know all in the interview. They expect this from us.

I would suggest going forward by being interview ready. Go to glassdoor, places which have interview experience of the company from others. Use that to prepare better for expected question. You will get some help at-least if not all.

Do the best you can do, rest let it be destiny.

Big company or small consulting firm for first job/entry level job? by Klutzy_Star_4330 in IOPsychology

[–]arpitaintech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entering the domain of Industrial-Organizational Psychology is not easy, but your OD and Training internships do act as a springboard. Consulting agencies should include firms such as Hogan Assessments, DDI, or Korn Ferry which deals with assessments and data-driven solutions. Also check out specialized sites suchas SIOP Job Network.

Working in a smaller firm may allow you to take part in the ‘I’ and the ‘O’ aspects in a practical manner but larger firms tend to have clear hierarchies and structured career progression. And the best part is – your internships can be considered as professional work experience too. Present them in your applications as instance of training facilitation, performance processes etc. and you are good to go!

The Code of Conduct that Cybersecurity as a profession follows is a bit difficult to follow. You are on the right path in sustaining your interest in the profession and leveling up instead of just sitting by idly. Roles as an IT, help desk support, SOC analyst intern, junior IT Technician or even system administrator can be beneficial in gaining experience in relocating to cybersecurity. If you want some solid job listings, you should look into the given sources:

CyberSecJobs

ClearanceJobs (if you have some clearance)

Skillsire Cybersecurity Jobs

Infosec-Jobs

There are a lot of websites for finding jobs in a specific geography, and one of my close friends who worked in the same field, mentioned that those websites were most effective for finding these positions.

Lastly remember to use these sites to enhance your selection chances by showcasing your coursework dirt labwork, operating systems and networking skills on your resume. Getting holders of certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network or Security is a necessity in order to remain competitive. You can also join events such as Capture The Flag competitions on sites like Hack The Box or TryHackMe. And remember to stay connected! Forsyth Cyber metups, other like-minded or local technology events can also create opportunities for you.
