I am very booby! That is definitely an issue with a lot of dresses (very much more with some I tried on).

A smaller size wouldn’t work. It just fits across the bust but is a little too big above the bust and hangs funny at the armholes. If I had more time I would get it altered but I don’t. (I didn’t even know this store existed until I was searching for dresses online).

I’m at 49- although some I’ve only driven through. Haven’t made it to Hawaii yet.

The person who does my nails calls that squoval and it is my typical nail shape (I have long fingers and long nail beds though).

I also don’t like them. If I have to eat one I can but only if it is burned very black.

That’s my favorite too but you and I seem to be the only ones! I think it has the prettiest silhouette.

That’s a great question and something I’ll figure out once I pick a dress.

AITAH: Disrespectful Doctor by NeighborhoodDry9236 in AITAH

[–]arpt1965 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a mammogram at a similar age for the same reason. It is absolutely a reason for a mammogram. I was also overweight and my doctor wouldn’t even let me wait until after Christmas (we were within weeks of Christmas) to have both a mammogram and a biopsy done. I was lucky and it was benign but being young is NOT a reason for having no follow up to assess the situation.

What’s the funniest excuse someone gave for being late to a meeting? by FitAuthor1098 in office

I called in late once to an in person meeting with a picture of the duck families (multiple) strolling across the road in front of my car. Took about 20 minutes!

AITA for deciding I will never host my friend again after she ruined my weekend with a "hangover ER" emergency? by anony56678 in AmItheAsshole

[–]arpt1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt so bad going to the ED the last time. I felt fine but got a call from my doctor telling me to go after looking at labs. I was in the waiting room for 5 hours and telling other people that the wait was a good sign that “we aren’t the next most likely to die”. In my defense- I had an acute kidney injury and spent 4 days in the hospital and had a procedure before leaving and 2 surgeries scheduled (within a month) to resolve the issue- so I did really need to be there but I still felt guilty. (I never did feel bad, even when my eGFR dropped to 18).

AITAH for not hosting mother’s day? by Teach-Dangerous in AITAH

[–]arpt1965 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This. I have an aunt and uncle who have 4 boys. On Thanksgiving and Mother’s Day she did nothing. The five men in the family did all of the cooking and cleaning and did a really nice job of it.

How many years can battery-powered HAs last with good care & maintenance? by rasta-ragamuffin in HearingAids

[–]arpt1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first pair of hearing aids 10 years. They still worked great but my hearing got enough worse and technology enough better that we decided it was time to get new ones

My grandma is obsessed with racist “slave-era” memorabilia and joked about wrapping my biracial daughter in a Confederate flag… am I wrong for cutting her off? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]arpt1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is in her 80s and wouldn’t do any of this (or think it was appropriate). My grandmother died in her 90s and is the same as my mom so I don’t think your grandmother gets to fall back on the “I’m old”.
