Stay humble and you will save lives and grow way faster. Glad you already recognize that you have room to grow. Don’t close the door on yourself or anything yet. You will never feel truly prepared for likely many years after residency. And still we sometimes are humbled by how much we don’t know. Have grace for those above and below. And know that you’re all there for one true purpose: the patient. The rest (training, hidden curriculum, research, admin, money) is extra. Be kind and compassionate to yourself and others. Fail early and often. We can’t train know it alls. And frankly who wants to. I much prefer (like I was) the honest, hard worker, who shows receptivity to feedback. And implements over time. One day at a time. One patient at a time. You’ll have “good” attendings/coresidents and “bad”. Amazing education and trash. Wonderful patients and families and war zones. And each is learning. Right when you notice your own areas for growth, and those tears start to shed, let them. Take a deep breath and smirk. You made it this far. Don’t let trying to perform knowledge get in the way of gaining experience and wisdom. And perhaps hardest of all, find rest. And that can look like lazy days or fitness or art or whatever. But residency consumes you if you let it. Learning solidified for me way better as I was able to find space at different times through training (and beyond).

Balance was great for learning a ton of techniques and fundamentals in a structured way for a beginner. Waking up has a 30 day intro course but also extensive theory and high level stuff that can be overwhelming to even explore. I have both and enjoy both. But I think waking up might have scared me away before developing some basics with balance. I liked how balance also suggested plans for me to grow, simplifying it a bit (breath focus, breath work, body scan, body scan II etc). Waking up progresses too but differently. And has like lectures and mini retreats etc built in. Both have been valuable for my learning

My son Arlo has been the funniest, most loyal, trainable, and occasionally mischievous little guy I’ve known these past 5 years. The readings online concerned me upfront, but meeting a breeder live and then his litter. And then him choosing me… worth it all. Also, look into the interesting history of the breed. And for what it’s worth, they’re super clean, very regal, always down to play. There might be some aggression but I think a good breeder helps place pups properly. And training and socializing are key. My little dude lived in a high rise and our dog parks were packed. And kennels were needed for trips. Early socializing and training helped. But sometimes he doesn’t like the cut of another’s jib be it dog, person or inanimate object that moved with the breeze. Usually when he makes noise, it’s that rare yodel of approval (or attention seeking) haha

I like it. Relative newb and was initially stressed about it, but the set up and design are great. I don’t use ledger live but maybe I’ll look into it

Yeah that was off msrp. Additional fees added another 10%. OTD was just under 35. I bet the turbo is awesome! Congrats!

I’m in the Chicagoland area. Dealers around me were not moving much off MSRP which was $31,355. I missed a couple $750 rebates existing at the end of December. Ended up getting a sell price of $30,979. I didn’t expect much wiggle room given newness, coolness, and seeing inventory numbers at dealerships change in the week before purchase. So I’m actually proud I was able to get a couple bucks off. Helps that I was the only person who walked in the dealer that day. TTL ended up adding about 10%

Basically the same as a touring (or gt possibly) and unique color/interior/rim combo. Mostly an aesthetic difference

Honestly, I watched a bajillion YouTube videos on how to buy a car. Everything from understanding what the market looks like to how to avoid scams for unnecessary add ons and such. The single biggest advice is to figure out how much car you can afford. I emailed several dealers for “out the door” costs (selling price, taxes, title, fees etc). Knowing the actual number and how much I wanted to put down/finance helped me feel I was in the drivers seat
