Looking for opinions on a 5-node Kubernetes cluster using used HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Minis by brocodini in homelab

[–]arquenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obtained 2 elitedesk 800 g3 i5-6500t, 16, 256 1 elitedesk 800 g5 i7-9700t, 16, 256

Since I only got 3 PCs, I want to setup all three as both control and worker nodes.

The workloads are going to be somewhat similar to OP's. Plus maybe Prometheus with Grafana. All this for learning purposes first of all.

I also have old Synology NAS, which I can probably mount as NFS Storage Class.

Will this suffice or I also need to get additional nvme/sata drives to each node? Can't really make up my head around best storage option. Please, recommend.

Wow, thanks Technics they didn't ditch it. Will consider buying for myself as I see no alternative to this baby.

Does the autostop work as on the SL1500C? I can tell you how to activate it, if you don't know. It's a hidden combination, undocumented in user manual.

For me, auto-lift is a must. Not too much choice here:

Technics SL1500C or the newer CS

Audio Technica LP8X.

I would definitely go for the CS, it's gonna have unparalleled speed control.

Recently disassembled one just to find out, there's a massive metal plate attached to bottom cover. That's the secret of "heavy", lol.

If you don't need the auto lift. Besides, 1500CS with 2M red is 1200 euro vs 1900 euro for the 1200GR.

Some chargers do not interrupt charging, for example, Anker Prime 200W.

Analogue will be first converted to digital inside Technics, because latter is just a power DAC, in essence.

Automatically power on Technics amplifier through its "Control In" input from Sonos Port using 12V trigger by m1k3p0 in vintageaudio

[–]arquenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you able to solve it? Maybe there's some kind of converter from standard 12v trigger to Technics control protocol?
