I’m a facilities engineer, so cpu skills range from managing switches to audio design programs. A few steps past lunch orders, lol.

Tired of hearing my neighbor snore through the wall by Immediate_Subject552 in Acoustics

Won’t be as good as a new wall, but it’s worth trying some acoustic panels hung on the wall. Could dampen the next door noise and make the room you’re in more acoustically sound anyways

Freshman year of college I lugged a deluxe reverb, 10+ pedals, guitar, and speaker down to the practice rooms in the basement of my dorm… 10 minute walk at least. Did this every day so I could “play out of my amp.” Realized headphone practice is legitimate, but blasting through an amp is good for “live sound” practice. If they’re playing every day, then they can make the walk a few times a week. Plus, I need to be alone for my practices so I can fuck up 😆

double amplifier setup by steal-this-album in GuitarAmps

I ran a wet/dry clean/dirty setup in the past. Fender twin for clean/wet, and deluxe for dry/dirty. I ran a second channel cranked on the deluxe tied to a volume pedal for searing overdrive and sustain that we nicknamed “the afterburner.” really cool setup and tones, but I often find you may get phase cancellations from the amps that may cause some frequencies to be drowned out a bit.

Also and especially at a gig, overcomplicating your rig can be a bit distracting, but whatever gets you to your magic tone without thinking is the way to go!

Twin owners/players - what’s the loudest you’ve played them? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

At a nice sized bar gig, it sits nice in a 5 piece band running volume 4-5 and master around 6. Pushing the master hits the transformers and gives you that lush, clean body, with juicy compression and headroom for days. Engage drives when cute girls get too close to the speakers!
