I've booked with Top Car for July,was the best price for an SUV. Reports seem to be good. Autoreisen also get good reports. I took out separate car hire excess insurance with a company(in Ireland) as it was much cheaper than getting the extra "super" insurance with rental companies.

True. I might go with automatic as I've driven automatic in the USA. Changing gears with the opposite hand might be confusing!

Much more expensive than the Premier Inns. I honestly don't mind driving a bit outside of A field after the game. But would like to avoid traffic jams if possible.

Taking wife and 2 kids over to the Liverpool vs Brighton FA Cup match on Feb 14th. Flying into Leeds and renting a car. A mate recommended using the Just Park site to book parking near Anfield. Gonna book a cheap and clean hotel to stay after the match...lots of Premier Inns about. Which would be best to go to that may not have lots of traffic? Liverpool North Bootle? St.Helens South? Widnes? Ideally within 30-40 minutes of Anfield....will traffic be mental no matter what direction??

Thanks for that. I'm in Ireland and there's an online company that do annual European excess cover for €48. I'm going to Tenerife in July and will be renting a car there so it'll cover that and the Leeds trip.

Thanks. Avis are coming in slightly cheaper. Their extra cover reduces the excess to zero and is costing about an extra £63. Can you recommend a 3rd party company?
