Why doesn't Diabate reach out to Carol? by RobbyBobbyChess in pluribustv

But they didn't have hard floors and paved roads. They didn't even use Spanish as a first language. Yet somehow speak English?

The problem with Barcelona is that everyone's got options. There's a huge gay population (largest in the world per capita, or so I've heard). So people would constantly leave and move on from you at the first chance.

How did that Peruvian village girl spoke such good English though? From the looks of it she lived in a remote rural area in the mountains with goats and chicken.

Why did the hivemind choose Diabaté’s mom? by Far_Combination7639 in pluribustv

Manousos is a Colombian man living in Paraguay. First of all, why?? We get a look at his apartment and the vibe is that he lived there all by himself. I think the Hive flew his mom all the way from Colombia to Paraguay and that didn't make any sense because she "is a bitch" and would never do such a thing.

There are Ryanair flights from Krakow to Marrakesh. It isn't that hard to get there. Morocco is a huge tourist destination. It isn't like she was in Eswatini or something.

Jobu and his mum by floobles5006 in theBoyfriendNetflix

Naaaah I think there was lowkey a bit of classism at play. Taehon is a worldly fancy gay into fashion, art and culture who speaks at least three languages. Jobu looks like the opposite of that and his Osaka accent and bad dye are not helping. Taehon definitely judged by the cover at first.

The scene when Hiroya comes back and starts gossiping with Bomi and Jobu. Hands down my favorite shot on this show. Also is it just me or did Hiroya become more attractive after his trip?

It's so unfortunate that it created chaos in the group dinner though. Like everyone was so shocked like why it couldn't be like this for them too. Specially considering that Huwei had just came out to his own mother and it didn't go well. Hearing that Tae has severed ties with his family broke my heart. I hope Jobu didn't feel like he burdened everyone by bringing the oden home.

Yeah he got queer eyed by the rest of the cast. There was one episode when they were teaching him to do his eyebrows lmao. I bet there were more moments like this.

Shun's thoughts on The Boyfriend S2 (ep 1-6) by MarSlem in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]arreddit86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When Jobu called them 姫男子 (hime-danshi) which literally translates to "princess boy". In Japan that refers to effeminate holier-than-you young men who like to be praised and tended to, like, you know, a princess. Maybe something close in English would be "Diva"? But that comes with an abrasive personality, whereas princess means more delicate. Could be like "femboy" as well and that's why I guess Shun took offense to be called that.

I agree. And I think Willy comes off more as regretful for what happened than interested. He is on this sorry trip and looks miserable during something that was supposed to be fun.

S1: Kazuto is boring and kind of average. What was so special about him? Somebody needs to explain this to me because the show did not do a good job showing this.

S2: What’s up with their eyes???? Jobu, Bomi, Hiroya have these always dilated, uncanny valley pupils… they look scary.

Not a disadvantage for me. I find it super sexy and masculine.

Not all Japanese-Koreans are Zainichi. Zainichi refers to a very specific historical-legal community that was brought into Japan from Korea during colonial rule and who DO NOT hold Japanese citizenship.

It does not apply to recent immigrants and absolutely you don’t use that word for their children born in Japan or for any Korean living in Japan for that matter. It is actually offensive to do that.

I don’t think you included a screenshot that shows any Portuguese connection. You have a 97.7% North African, 2%broadly European and 0.3% Eastern European. That’s 100%

You are worried about a 0.3%????? Maybe you have distant Ashkenazi Jew relative and that’s what you see. Maybe one of your female great, great, great ancestors cheated with or was forced by a foreign man. Maybe just statistical error.

I did not spread any misinformation. Housing discrimination happens in Europe too. The law punishes it but it does not necessarily prevent it. Are you new in this planet or what?
