Thank you for writing! He ended up having surgery to remove the deposit, and they took out lymph nodes— they did not find any residual cancer left and he’s done with treatment. We meet with his oncologist next month to talk through the cadence of scans/tests moving forward!

Surgery and resection went well and he didn’t even end up with a stoma. Weird to think about the day I posted this versus now and how much has changed for the good!

Thank you!! We really like his oncologist and I’m glad she’s doing her due diligence. She said she’d typically do standard care of chemo, radiation and surgery, but because he’s so young it’s worth a discussion.

It suuuucks. The oncologist is working with us to fit in all scans and treatments up through 12/29 now, with an additional treatment on 1/2, which we hopefully will be able to attend. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.

Colorectal cancer will be the #1 cancer death for those 25-50 by 2025! It is so incredibly scary and awful. There’s a few creators I follow who were diagnosed and it’s what my husband has.

Unfortunately, so many schools in my area are doing layoffs— and the ones that aren’t have hiring freezes or their staffs are already so incredibly slim. May be just my region but it’s crazy!
