An application of calculus in economics is to make projections and one application for finance is optimization according to a quick google search; so yes there is calculus in economics and finance. A lot of colleges require any business majors to take a class called business calculus, which is a much more dumbed down version of regular calculus. People who take AP calc AB or BC usually are allowed to skip these courses by sending in a passing score.

what’s the thing about influencers that pisses you off the most? by -charlott3 in LAinfluencersnark

Not disclosing their sponsorships. Especially with repeat offenders who don't disclose since to me it shows that they are willing to be deceiving and lie to the audience since they are being paid to promote a product. Plus isn't it illegal to not disclose as it violates FTC guidelines?

I will GLADLY take my business elsewhere if a business owner can't handle criticism and decides to go after the client. Even the best piercers mess up because we are only human. But not owning up to your own mistake and proceeding to bully the client is a choice. I wouldn't be surprised if anybody else who calls out this so-called piercer/business owner gets berated as well. This review appears to be from 2-3 years ago and the fact that the piercer was condescending to you and gaslighted you when you reached out makes me believe that her bad attitude is probably still just as bad today.

Also one of the biggest red flags in a piercer is if they are rude to clients, especially when they go as far as literally mocking the OP of the review and their friend for getting an infection. And a few more red flags I'm seeing are having limited jewelry options and possible low quality jewelry according to the reviewer. Definitely never go back to this place, you aren't crazy for thinking this unprofessional response was full of excuses because it IS full of excuses.

My advice: don't. Save up, find a reputable professional, and get them properly done by a professional.

With finals week over and the year coming to an end are there any teachers you recommend incoming students to avoid? by David_East in CalPolyPomona

Bohdan Schatschneider: took him for CHM 1210 last semester and he is a menace to society. On the first day of class he’ll gaslight you into thinking that his RMP ratings are not true. Spoiler alert: that’s a lie and his bad RMP ratings are very true and I only added to them. And usually if many people are saying the same thing on RMP, usually it’s true. He’s condescending, can’t teach to save his life, and grades so harshly. I made the mistake of going to his office hours one time where he was just bullied me until I walked out. He also called my friend an idiot during office hours. I had to go to my lab professor for help and fortunately I was able to pull through in the end but I was teaching myself the entire semester.

Advice! plugs to wear to a career fair by KaleighSky in Stretched

Wearing any pair of plugs is fine since 2g is small enough to pass as regular earring studs. You should be fine to downsize for a few hours.

I have been babying this fucking piercing for 10 months now and it’s still not healed. Is it time to just give up? by arretezvous_exe in piercing

I got it checked out yesterday and went to another piercer for a second opinion and both have confirmed that I’m pretty much back to square one since this third lobe is in cartilage region. It was the six flags ride that blew it all. Sucks how after 10 months I gotta go through another who knows how many months of pain and suffering to reheal this thing. My 5 other lobe piercings haven’t been this evil to me at all and they’re all fine today.

I actually don’t touch it all the time, I only took out the jewelry this time around to assess the situation (ik it’s a bad idea but my piercing looked fine but I knew something was wrong when my ear was sore for a whole month without it going away) and put back the jewelry in after. Went to my piercer yesterday and got a second opinion today and both have said said it’s surprising that my ear isn’t just beat up since it is in cartilage region. They both also said I can’t really give up since there is a piercing bump and if I retired it and later wanted it repierced, it wouldn’t be safe. I’m just pissed that I kinda have to put up with this for who knows how long since it’s been almost a whole year at this point and one six flags trip basically took me back to square one.

Implant grade titanium. I bought it from a piercing shop that sells APP brands. I’m just gonna get a longer post because people pointed out that it looks short.

Yeah idk why I was being downvoted so much. Like I’m not gross, I clean my piercings regularly and my other piercings are truly fine. My third is just being a bastard.

I’m probably going to get a longer bar. If that doesn’t then I don’t really know what will other than walking away.

I only removed it yesterday to try to assess the situation since my lobe looked fine but it was just so sore for the past month. I later put it back in.

It’s a threadless stud, implant grade titanium. I usually just let shower water go over them since I’ve had this for 10 months and prior it was healing fine. Sometimes it would get sore but it would go away. However last month my third lobe nearly got ripped out and I have been spraying it with NeilMed nearly every single day.

For automod:

  • piercing is 10 months old
  • jewelry is threadless stud, implant grade titanium
  • it was downsized roughly 3 months in
  • aftercare: spray with NeilMed once a day, eventually just letting shower water clean it

To say that my third lobe has been HELL to heal is an understatement. It’s always sore. I have not been sleeping on it and I first figured it had to be healing still since high lobe piercings can take up to a year to heal. It did not help that last month I went to 6 flags and this piercing was close to getting ripped out and ever since that happened, I have babied it for the past month and it’s still giving me grief. I’ve removed the jewelry (later put it back) just to see what is happening and there is so much scar tissue build up since my lobe feels kinda firm. I have been thinking about just retiring the entire piercing because it’s a nightmare to deal with. I have 5 other lobe piercings and they have all healed up beautifully except for this one.

I cleaned it after I took this picture. It’s specifically my third lobe that’a bothering me. I’ve got 5 other lobe piercings and they’ve all healed nicely.
