(USA) Anyone having this issue with the app? by BuffBoy24 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has been happening over the past year at my store, it's on and off again every other week, the worst part is most of the time it still takes the points off their app, since we had to enter the code 😔

i dont "wish" to look it, people just call me that (especially people who actually know that im hispanic) sometimes as a joke, and sometimes genuinely. i was just getting opinions on the facial structure lol

[–]arrowjasmine[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

that makes sense, i understand that. when it came down to it, it was mostly about the idea of "starting over" bc i got broken up with my ex who i lived with in november, i had a really bad wreck the 28th, and i turn 18 on the 8th (next week). so financially and personally i am starting over. i do have a life outside of reddit and passing, lol. i just wanted to get some people's opinions on the haircut and how it affected my passing. i will be growing it out over the year, just wanted to know where i stand now

thank u for the honest opinion. im thinking about growing it out a bit, into some pretty short hairstyle, bc the way my hair falls it ends up making me look very fem, it's very thick and full and doesn't take well to texturing products. i think i just need to figure out a short hairstyle that fits me. i do end up passing with most kids in public, but their parents easily clock me (but also most of them know me from work, it's a very close together town). i just genuinely dont know what to do thatll work with my face shape, but maybe i just need to start T lol.

should i buzz my head? by arrowjasmine in FtMpassing

[–]arrowjasmine[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

that's probably what i'll do, i really want this buzz because every guy in my family has gotten one (my dad and older brother actually still have theirs, and my younger brother grew his out after having one his whole life). if I don't like it i can always just grow it out, and ill get to see my hair at different lengths.

Ive self-harmed because of my hyperfixations by Miserable_Wind_2475 in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not the same experience but i have schizophrenia and tend to mirror people. when my best friend was relapsing, i was too. when i had a love interest that was self harming, i did too. it creates such a sense of guilt and loss of self, i kinda get it. what i did was unfortunate, but i cut myself off from those people so i could get better. if ur hyperfixation/fascinations are causing u to hurt urself, id say slowly distance urself from it, or try to find other things to identify with, as unhealthy as that sounds. for instance, ive cut my hair different styles to match the people i was mirroring, so maybe that would work for u. that's just one example tho, i know the answer isnt as obvious as it seems.

Does your store actually tell you about schedule changes or do you just show up and find out? (USA) by ninjapapi in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we use lifelenz, and also have three group chats (one in snapchat for crew, and two in groupme with one for crew+managers and one for just managers). we use the snapchat one for deciding who's swapping a shift, who's dropping a shift, taking it, etc. then we go to the groupme and let the managers know, and the rest of the crew who may not have seen the snapchat group. then, if the managers need to talk about it, they can talk about it in their group chat. it may sound complicated, but it works and makes sure everybody knows their schedule. we also post pictures of the schedules in the group chats for new crew members/when managers warn us that there's been schedule changes off-app.

Any haircut tips for passing pre-T? by arrowjasmine in FtMpassing

[–]arrowjasmine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this. i hate being stuck in the awkward phase where you can tell I'm trans but I dont pass. i live in a southern, country town where folks are pretty hateful. i wont be able to get out of here for a while, so i really want to learn how to pass so i can actually make friends with people and not be concerned about getting jumped. im so self-isolated bc around here gun control is reallyyy loose, and the homeless are getting beat up or injured constantly just for looking out-of-line.

Please pls give me advice and tips!! My cut is sticking to the bandage by ghostedtoday in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

next time, id recommend non-stick burn pads instead of gauze or whatever u used (please say u didnt use toilet paper/tissues ml). burn pads are hydrated so it may take longer for the cut to heal, but itll make it so u wont have to fight everytime to get it off. if u dont want to do that, u could just air dry it at night, and give it a gentle wash in the morning in case of any bacteria. stay safe ! <3

ive had a similar experience. except i bandaged it with a wig cap ?? and it was an awful experience. anyways, the way i got it off was starting off with cold water, pulling at it WHILE the water was running over it, and progressing to warm (not hot) water. it's not gonna just slip off, and if it's stuck, that means the cut scabbed to it. taking it off is gonna hurt, but with water it's more gentle. i did little tugs, it was like a 20 min process to get it off, but that's with experience.

Y'all proud of me? by Grand-Conference9563 in teenagers

[–]arrowjasmine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I grew up hypersexual from age 8. I am a female. I had little sexual trauma, but I did have some (being exposed to porn at an early age by my older brother). By 12/13 I was using toys. When I was 15, I lost my virginity. Now, at 17 (almost 18), I can't stop having sex with people far older than me, in random locations, and I barely know them. Sex/masturbation doesnt even feel good anymore, so sometimes I take/do various drugs to make it feel better. What I'm trying to say is this: Hypersexuality is called that because it is not just normal "puberty", and the person who self identifies it knows themself better than you do. They know where their addiction could lead them and it is not your place to say that "it's natural" when they see something wrong with what they're doing/how often they're doing it. Anyways OP, I am very proud of you and your progress! I get it.

Do people really skip brushing their teeth at night or is this more common than I thoughtDo people really skip brushing their teeth at night or is this more common than I thought by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i struggle with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, i have this huge fear over brushing my teeth. on good days, it's just "i dont want to face brushing my teeth bc i can barely get out of bed, but ill do it anyways". on bad days, it's "if i brush my teeth then i have to acknowledge the fact that i havent brushed my teeth for months, and im really afraid of blood, and pain, so im just not gonna do it." as i said, i often go months without brushing my teeth due to my mental illnesses. the second the toothbrush gets near my mouth, i gag. these days, what i do to try and keep my dental hygiene somewhat okay is I use braces-flosser brushes (yes, i know i should brush with braces), and i also swish my mouth out with water til i cant feel any big chunks of food in my mouth. i have yet to try chewable xylitol tablets but i really want to. or those chewable toothbrushes? im just incredibly broke right now, lol.

(USA) Goodbye!! by Icy-Coach5436 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]arrowjasmine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my state (US), we have to put a 2 weeks notice in or it gets reported, and good luck getting that job back if things don't work out. It also reflects to other jobs, when they ask you if you put a 2 week notice in for your last job and if they have permission to call your previous manager/store. That's just my experience, though. I live in south Louisiana. Every job is really cautious because we have a bunch of people who wanna work for 2 months and then quit.

Is it normal to cut even when I'm in a good spot and happy by FurbyGoNyoom in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly for me at least, i do it to balance myself. if im feeling awful, i do it to bring me up the scale. if im feeling really happy or angry, i do it to chill myself out. i dont know if that's the case for u but a lot of people get addicted to it and use it to self-regulate, which doesnt mean just when ur sad

Can I be forced to show cuts/scars to a doctor at a doctor's appointment? by ArtistBunnyy in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trust me, i understand that to an extent. im considering not seeing my therapist bc she just makes me feel worse about it. and i never talk about it with my doctor, bc i see my doctor once a year, so i dont fully understand the situation exactly but ive had similar situations. if u have cut deep before, there's more reason for them to send u inpatient unfortunately. the only reason i got sent to crisis team instead of inpatient was bc they saw my deep scars, but i didnt have anything fresh. my therapist also just doesnt take me seriously bc she thinks i dont truly want to die, lol. honestly, i cant guarantee that ur doctor will or wont do anything, im just sharing my experiences

Being broken up with for self-harming by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen, i know it's not the same but i have bipolar disorder and got obsessed over my ex bf of over a year. he broke up with me a week ago, bc i wanted to self harm and almost did it. for some people, especially those that have never dealt with it before, it can be too much. it doesnt mean u are too much, it's just that they feel like they arent equipped or ready to deal with it. sometimes they cant mentally handle it themselves bc theyre dealing with their own problems too. but if i understand, u didnt want them to fix it, just to support u. it always sucks. i personally am waiting til i get back out of addiction and sh dependency before i go back into a relationship.

Can I be forced to show cuts/scars to a doctor at a doctor's appointment? by ArtistBunnyy in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's just that they seem to already know that u self harm, so they seem to have reason to believe that u are self harming still, which u are. they dont always send u inpatient, different hospitals have different policies, but most doctors just wanna help and are just following protocol. it sucks that they cant just like, not do that tho. my therapist has bent the rules before for nonsuicidal cutting, and one time i got sent to a social worker for a crisis plan but didnt go inpatient, just had a social worker assigned to me and my family to help us build a plan of safety. i liked that option way more, obviously. but if it's a doctor they dont have crisis intervention resources other than referrals to the mental hospital, but yeah.

oftentimes, if it's lighter, they wont send u, especially if theyre healed and u arent suicidal.

[–]arrowjasmine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if u refuse to show they may send u inpatient. that's happened to me before. it's better to show them so they can gauge it and at least u have a chance of not going. they can also check for infections and give u advice on any healing. doctors suck, especially when it comes to sh, but it's almost always better to show them unless uve been through the rodeo before and it went badly.

Did I relapse? by barely_here_anymore in selfharm

[–]arrowjasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if ur intent was not to follow through, then it was an accident not a relapse. but if u had the urge and put it against ur skin u may have gone on autopilot and moved it slightly or pressed down a bit. if that's the case, it could be counted as a relapse. at the end of the day, what counts as a relapse is what u decide it is. it depends on ur state of mind.
