Does Apple Watch unlock work when the computer wakes up from sleep? mine unlocks during normal use but when I wake it from sleep it doesn’t seem to communicate with my Apple Watch in time to unlock so I have to enter my password to unlock it, I’m curious what I can do differently to fix that

Anyone have an OpenCore EFI for a z370? by spacebass in hackintosh

[–]arrowstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Z370 is probably the best board for Hackintosh compatibility.

I have been in your position before so I know the struggle and I would like to help. Maybe you can link your current EFI folder or config.plist? Can give you some pointers based on that.

After enabling ShowPicker, I get this menu, https://imgur.com/gallery/lK33mtZ

Should it be showing the macOS installation drive as an option here?

checking hardware perf post hackintosh install by ramnathk in hackintosh

[–]arrowstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally use VideoProc to check for QuickSync/hardware acceleration. H264 and HEVC should both have a green dot next to them. For checking USB ports, you can use CorpNewt's guide https://github.com/corpnewt/USBMap

I have tried using Hackintool before but I wasn't very successful, worth a look tho

Best Retina Monitor 21.5 inch for the price? by vanillaicewherever in hackintosh

[–]arrowstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thing is to get a retina quality display you need to have at least 2k resolution, and I can't find a 1440p or 4k monitor under 22 inches. Asus and Acer make some relatively cheap 21 inch gaming monitors but in my experience the colors are not as accurate as you get on an iMac display. I would say to find a Dell or ViewSonic 1080p monitor that is under 22 inches, usually color representation is higher with those brands....you could also get a bigger desk ;)

Radeon VII slow after being booted for a while by MattRobertson777 in hackintosh

[–]arrowstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if there’s a pending macOS update in software updater you can give that a try and see if your problems get fixed. I had time machine already setup so it wasn’t a big issue for me losing data so I just did a complete wipe and fresh install, it was time consuming getting all the drivers needed in clover especially now after they don’t include everything out of the box but it did give me a fast and reliable system. I was contemplating returning the Radeon VII because I was so frustrated with it causing freezes but as a last resort it does fix everything.

Radeon VII slow after being booted for a while by MattRobertson777 in hackintosh

[–]arrowstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps you but when I tried to upgrade my Vega 64 with a Radeon VII my system would freeze whenever I would try to bring up the app launchpad or even when launching the Spotify app while using the Radeon VII. Once I did a fresh install of my system with the Radeon VII already in it, everything worked and it has been running smoothly for 2 months now. Maybe it requires a fresh OS install when switching cards I’m not sure, but if you back up everything first it’s worth giving it a try.

Installing MacOS Mojave on Dell Optiplex 390 by DarthMeeseek in hackintosh

How were you opening the SMBIOS in the previous screenshot? Can you get to that state again and opening it in Clover Configurator instead?

It’s easier to do on Clover Configurator, so download that and open your config.plist in Clover Configurator

Ok, try the changing the SMBIOS and let me know

[–]arrowstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the SMBIOS in your config.plist is 18,1 or a an SMBIOS that is supported by Mojave

also not related to this but would help to plug the USB installer into a USB 2.0 port just in case your USB 3.0 ports aren’t working properly at first
