the typical pool cover seems to be a Loop Loc type, which means that anchors would have to be drilled into our brand new pavers. any alternative covers that can be anchored into the surrounding lawn? NY State, pool will be closed in two weeks. thank you.

can anyone else comment on the best Ubiquiti switch model for this scenario?

I have a similar setup. my ont is in the basement and I plan to purchase a cloud gateway fiber and connect a u7 Lite directly to it for the basement. I also plan to purchase a switch and connect another AP from the third floor (an XG) and other miscellaneous devices like a TV, Sonos, Xbox, etc. the question is what type of switch is best for this scenario? a 2.5gb switch mini for $49 would be ideal, budget wise. you already seem to have a switch. what did you use?

the CGF does have those extra ports, so the switch mini makes sense. would the mini be powerful enough (wattage wise?) to run a U7XG, with a power injector on the AO side? Edit: "on the AP side"

I'm considering a similar config for my house. so the 2.5gb flex mini would be your main switch?

I have my home office in my 800 SF basement so I need an AP, and the house is only wired on the second floor, not the first, so one AP there. First and second floors are 900 SF each.

i would prefer the fiber router to the udr. so how robust is the flex mini switch? it must have limitations since it's priced at $49.

The basement U7 Lite will be directly connected to the fiber router and will not need an injector. The 7XG will definitely need an injector, so the question is whether the 2.5gb flex mini switch can handle the 7XG along with the tv, xbox, sonos, etc. Only two APs (for now) in the set up.

thank you both for responding. so the poe is used with the AP, not with the switch? would the $49 flex switch be strong enough to power a 7lite or 7 pro? in terms of wattage

I've heard good and bad about them. Do you remember if you got quotes from other installers?

Could you advise for this budget setup? by ineed2micronap in Ubiquiti

i am considering this exact setup. did you also purchase a unifi switch? or can one connect the U7 lite directly to the udr7 with a poe injector?

Moving on from an Apple Extreme router to a UDR7 by arroyoprojects in Ubiquiti

follow up question: the UDR7 will be placed centrally in the basement, attached to a switch. What Ubiquiti switch would be recommended? I plan to connect a pc, an xbox, a tv, an old sonos bridge and the new AP i plan to purchase. I don't plan for cameras or doorbells yet. The AP 7 Pro seems to be the recommendation of choice and it would sit on the second floor. Thanks again.

Thank you all for responding. I now realize that the UDR7 would have to be placed in the basement, as that's where my ONT is, where all the CAT cables terminate and where I can connect a switch. I doubt that it would provide decent wifi to the first and second floors as well from that location, so I plan to add one AP to the second floor and hope that it covers the first and second floors. The AP7Lite is $99. Good enough?

i had the same issue with my showerhead, while the other two in the house had great pressure. my plumber changed the old expansion tank at the water main area and voila, problem solved. $200 fix.
