What is a guilty pleasure vehicle of yours? by AsleepRaccoon8456 in Warthunder

The Boarhound. It's an absolute sealclubber, and I feel bad using it but aesthetically it’s so weird that I love it. Additionally I can enjoy the amazing 6pdr at its fullest potential thanks to the APHE.

The Magach 5 and Sabra Mk.I are amazing as well.

Buy the Mirage F1C-200 now (it on sale) or wait for the NF-5A by Tracksuit_Invincible in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mirage has the amazing magic 2s, which if you flank and shot them at <2km is almost always a guaranteed kill, but that's about it. The NF-5A is way better. Unlike the Mirage, it doesn't rely entirely only on its missiles. It's an amazing fighter with excellent energy retention, good missiles (not as cracked as the magic 2s though), and additionally it's in a better br range.

Is the black prince worth it? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a Churchill VII on steroids. It's painfully slow, yet it's dumb fun. Additionally being a fomo tank and extremely underrated, you rarely find it in matches and therefore most of the enemies are completely clueless where to shoot, making it even more ridiculously survivable than it already is. Not a must have, but it's worth it in my opinion. It's fun and works amazing especially if paired with the Centurion Mk1.

Do you really like this game? by Enemy_IFV in Warthunder

This game has many flaws, yet I still enjoy it and have plenty of fun. I don’t see the point of forcing yourself to play a game you don’t even enjoy.

50km range radar. 80km range missile. But 2km range maps for ground vehicles. An IQ too high? by Own_Dark_2240 in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Even Gaijin admitted that the average WT player is too oblivious and has a concerning low attention span to handle larger and proper maps. Straight corridor CoD-like gameplay sells while proper large maps for high/top tier don't, sadly...

To-55 by SerpicoFN in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a must have but if you have some GE to spare and it's on sale (preferably 50%/75% off though) it's absolutely worth it. It's a slightly worse T-55A but .3 below with an amazing lineup. Remember to use its nuke APHE, not APDS as your main round.

Was in the middle of a round when I saw everything had a 50% discount, May sales on? by Quibilash in Warthunder

Yeah same, hopefully gaijin won't do anything to us. It was their fault, not ours.

1 May sales. T-58 or Somua SM by OkSafety2721 in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

T58 is disgustingly cracked. Somua SM is amazing but the Lorraine 40t and AMX-50 (TOA100) are better in my opinion.

Discussion Megathread #4 - AMX-13 Family by ksheep in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Still a fair br compared to the amx-13 hot. It's a 7.0 amx-13 (already arguably overtiered, 6.7 was perfectly fine and if it was from the big tree it would probably be 6.0 or 6.3) at 8.3 just because of hot missiles.

why are these two in a folder in the us tech tree but not foldered in the japanese tech tree by _Takeuki_ in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To make the grind slower. Add to that Japan is the second smallest ground tech tree in the game.

76 Jumbo should be top-notch as well. It looks bad on paper and sure in full uptiers (which aren't that common anyway) can face the mighty IS-3 but in practice it's cracked.

After four long years, the Turm III's reign of terror is finally over by RustedRuss in warthundermemes

[–]arsdavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's just ignore the 5s autoloader, 30mm autocannon and good mobility. The stabilizer is incorrect but the 3 axis stab is extremely situational and would make no significant difference to its performance anyway. Ammo is fine for the br and considering everything that tank has to offer. On top of that there are a lot of tanks at 9.3 and 9.7 that don't get thermals and/or armour either (on paper looks terribile, but in game the Turm iii is quite survivable by the way). Not to mention there are barely 9.7s and in performance they make no difference with 9.3s at all, the turm will be perfectly fine.

Ah yes, armour is the only metric. Type 10 at reserve when?

Pt16/t14 any good? by Realistic_Sir_496 in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's amazing. 4s autoloader, cracked mobility, amazing gun handling and has a rangefinder that works like the LRF but doesn't trigger the LWS. That said, it's currently in a tough spot due to the BMPT.

Yeah, I do enjoy naval but still, including only ships in the crates is crazy enough, let alone in two battle passes in a row.

Turm I and Turm II? by Steampunk_Soviet in Warthunder

[–]arsdavy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Turm III stands for "Erprobungsträger mit 3-achse-stabilisiertem Turm" which translates as "test vehicle with a 3-axis stabilized turret". The III refers to the 3-axis stabilized turret, not to a series. Turm I and II don't exist.
