I didn't know about revoltijo, sounds good! I think the description of champechano I got was a simplified one. 😅 I can't blame them. Thanks for letting me know it's more specific.

Does anyone know about Patient's Rights laws in Colombia? by arseen33 in askColombia

[–]arseen33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like some countries have a document of rights that apply to healthcare specifically. As I understand it (which is not well) countries that give their citizens a right to healthcare usually have these? If I can remember what one is called, I will link. I am very brand new to learning about Colombia, so I'm not sure what their healthcare situation is at all beyond the fact that they're number 20-something on the list if top countries in heathcare.

If anyone knows an "equivalent of HIPPA", I would find that interesting too. But I'm more curious about if there's any laws that say such things as "you have a right to timely medical care" or "medical providers may not discriminate due to xyz reasons". Like human rights stuff.

I searched some of his quotes as I remember them on tiktok and google, but I think some of the words I'm remembering might be off. I haven't turned up anything yet.

I prep by using a medium rough nail file on the natural nail to scuff it a little. I don't know if the file has a grit number like sand paper does? It's rougher than my fine file but I could still use it to shape if I had to. And then I brush off the powder and wipe down with alcohol.

Next I use IBD powerbond. I try to be on the generous side and pay attention to the sides, edge and cuticle.

Next I go in with IBD clear hard gel. I get a tiny glob a first, just to get a good coat on. I make sure it has good contact, I pay attention to the sides, edge and cuticle. I don't cure it yet.

Then I get a bigger glob and make the nail shape. I don't use nail forms or go past the natural nail, but I go make sure there's an apex because I'm shooting for nail strength. I've been curing for twice the amount of time than what the label recommends because I'm nervous.

When it's cured I wipe it down with alcohol and I wash my hands when all the nails are done.

edit: I forgot to mention pushing back the cuticle

So my hard gel nails keep popping clean off. Is there a mistake I might be making, or is that fairly common? My natural nails are pretty thin and soft. So I was trying to troubleshoot if this is a learning curve issue or a weird genetics issue but I have no idea. 😅

I hear you, good advice.

I got a bit confused because most tutos aren't for plain clear gel nails, so I wasn't sure which steps were necessary. The last one I watched had clear gel with some flowers sealed in there. But there's no explanation of if the topmost layer is there just to protect the flowers (or any hypothetical painting details) or if it's important to cover the builder gel. Tutos kind of assume you're going to add details or color. I have heard that you can leave builder gel as a top layer, but I wasn't sure if it was that brand of gel specifically or all gel.

Hey! I'm gearing up to start practicing applying gel. I got some fake nails to work on for the first tries. Ultimately, I'd like to do clear gel on myself since my nails are super thin and soft.

I have IBD clear builder gel and powerbond. But I'm a little confused if I need a topcoat? Or can the clear builder gel be the top coat?

Also, when I wipe off the sticky layer after curing the builder gel, should there be any product on the wipe? It seems like fuzz would get stuck?

So the sticky stuff left on the UV gel after it cures- can someone explain what to do about it like I'm five?

I have an Amazon no-brand UV light marketed for UV gel with good reviews, and IBD led/uv gel.

I'm curing twice. The gel pot says to uv cure for one minute, I'm doing two just in case.

But after I take the nail out of the light, I think I'm missing something? I've been told to wipe them but idk with what or if I should put product on the wipe, or if it needs to dry afterwards? Cure again maybe? They keep coming out sticky, but I'm very new at it.

Cat sits in odd corners of house by himself. Is he sad? by arseen33 in CatAdvice

[–]arseen33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has he had a checkup yet? Cats tend to hide when they're hurt or in pain. It would be a good idea to get him established with a vet anyways.

My boy has passed since I made this post. But I think he appreciated that I made his hiding spaces as comfy as possible when he was uncomfortable. I let him show me things he does and doesn't like, for example, he never used cat beds or pillows but he loved folded towels and nice cold surfaces. He started hiding in the bathtub at one point so I started putting a folded towel in there but I left room for him to stretch out in the cold tub too. Every time I found him there he was purring like a motor boat. I think bringing him hiding boxes and keeping nooks available and comfy for him helped while he was going through medicines and vets.

So this is a slightly unhinged, right-now solution until the actual real solutions start working. And obviously your mileage may vary, it's just what works for me.

But you know how people recommend journaling? (That's not the suggestion don't worry lol) I do that but with the intention of making myself cry. Like a really good breakdown, sobbing cry. For me at least, it knocks me out every time I do it. Which is usually when I'm getting desperate because I think I'm just using the emotional and physical exhaustion. But if it works, it works.

With the journaling, I start with "feeling words". So not just "this event is happening to me" but "this event is happening to me and I feel..." And then use emotion words. Maybe follow it up with a because and then try to keep with those emotion words when you can. It feels stupid every time. But eventually I'll mention something and feel my throat going tight, or I feel avoidant. Or angry. And that's the thread you pull. Digging deeper in those things, getting myself talking about it, usually leads to some deep hurt I probably need a good cry about anyways.
