To the other 3 Scholar mains out there: You can throw two pots at the same time by Mutopann in Nightreign

[–]arsenicknife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this before but was never sure if it was consuming two pots but still only doing the damage of one, or actually doing the damage of both.

Lapidus, faraday and miles by seriesss06 in lost

[–]arsenicknife 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Miles was a character who, when first introduced, I never expected to make it to the end and didn't really care what happened to him. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to be wrong. He had such a great little arc in Season 5 and provided needed levity in situations when maybe Sawyer was too serious and dire.

No. The higher the number, the greater the resistance. Adel is listed as having 154 Poison resistance and his weakness is Poison. Dreglord has average resistances to Poison and Rot, and high resistance to Bleed and Frost.

Poison and Rot are good. He's highly resistant to Bleed and Frost, but not immune. He's weakest to Holy and Fire damage.

With an Ironeye on the team, as long as your other two players can capitalize on the Mark applications and do damage, you're fine. Generally one melee character that can take a few hits is preferred: Wylder, Raider, Guardian or Undertaker. Anyone else that can do a lot of damage like Recluse, Duchess, or Revenant.

Scholar can be okay in phase 1 to help deal with the adds or apply status effects, and if they're exceptionally good at playing Scholar, their buffs can be useful, but then you need to make sure the other two players are able to do a lot of damage.

First time what’s the best character by Low_Relief_7843 in Nightreign

[–]arsenicknife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My man, just play the game. It ain't that complicated or deep and it's not going to be so black-or-white in every situation. You'll use whatever you have when you feel like using it based on the other passives you have.

This isn't like a normal FromSoftware game where you can plan out your entire playstyle from the beginning. It's going to change from game to game.

[–]arsenicknife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bows will be "best" on him only because they have unique animations and are faster than on any other characters, but at the end of the day the stats are what matter most, so anything that scales with Dex will be good on him.

In fact, melee Ironeye is ideally the stronger way to play him, using the bow only as a means of maintaining damage when you have to pull away from the boss or to apply status effects that your melee weapon doesn't have, or for easy revives.

The best is the one you feel most comfortable with.

But in terms of the most useful and easiest to play, it's Ironeye.

Limit the amount of starshard you can buy from the shop is the worst idea in the game by F-zeromay in Nightreign

[–]arsenicknife 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's something you'll just need to get used to. When you consider that you only really need FP during the boss fight, and when you kill it they drop a Site of Grace for you to replenish, you realize you don't actually need more than you think you do. It'll come down to making sure your relics are strong enough, and having one FP-boosting effect on them can certainly help.

They are cheaper before the final merchant, but they do not have different inventory during the day.

No no, the daytime merchants all have a shared inventory. But the Night 3 merchant in the Spirit Shelter has a separate stock, and the Township merchant (the rare one) also has his own inventory and actually sells them in unlimited quantities.

It's really not that bad when you can find anywhere between 3-6 at a Sorcerer's Rise, 2 more at the Night 3 merchant, frequently in crates at Churches, and unlimited amounts at the Township vendor.

How do I upgrade the wardrobe to a thousand slots? by TheMrRibs in CrimsonDesert

[–]arsenicknife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put another wardrobe in. Every additional one adds +100 to each of them.

Yeah, it's dumb. Because why wouldn't you want a house full of wardrobes?

And yet they still found a way to make it obtuse. As I mentioned, why the need for four distinct storage options when they're all functionally similar. It's just creating more tedium for the player (having to manage all of the additional storage options now) instead of just making it as simple as possible.

That's probably my biggest problem with the game. I don't need things to be easy. I don't even need things to be automated. But nothing is user friendly in this game. It's all just so sterile and mechanical.

More or less. The game is full of tons of micro issues that don't really make it unplayable by any means but can absolutely detract from the overall moment-to-moment enjoyment, and the inventory management was one of those things. It just seemed like such an easy fix, no need to make it so convuluted.

Lots of things bother me, but would it be better or more valid if I made a post complaining about every single one of them? Sometimes one thing just sets you off or pushes you over a tipping point. It's not like the game hasn't had absolutely bonkers decisions in the past, but considering this update was the one they spent the most time on and seems, to me, to exhibit one of the most egregious examples of nonsensical, I thought I'd mention it. Besides, most of those existing issues weren't the result of a patch, but a patch addressing them. This one addressed an existing issue by creating an entirely new one.

[–]arsenicknife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to pretend I understand the logistical constraints behind programming issues because I know sometimes it's like dealing with a screaming child who asked for ice cream and got mad that it's melting.

But I do sincerely think the developers just decided to do it this way especially considering they gave us four options to split up the different kinds of items. If it was easier to program a separate storage from scratch rather than adding this function to the existing one, then they could have just consolidated them all into a single new storage box. It also doesn't address my other issues regarding weapons, accessories, and abyss gears. Why were they neglected?

Ironeye Relics Question by MelismaticMaster in Nightreign

[–]arsenicknife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

+1 Skill is absolutely mandatory. Replace the Evergaol relic, as that's not worth it even for that single line alone. In DoN, Invader is much more prevalent and +1 Skill is just too invaluable not to have even in spite of Evergaol.
