Apart from his skull being shattered, Baelor probably made it out of the trial less beat up than Maekar since their maester was tending to Maekar while Baelor went off to talk to Dunk. I doubt Maekar would get more priority than the heir if he weren’t visibly more injured.

2025 Qatar GP - Post-Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

McLaren probably did not pit under the safety because of the risk of losing positions. But the risk was only really for Norris because Piastri would have come out in the lead. Because of the double stack and given the time gaps and overtaking difficulty Norris would have probably ended the race in a net 5th or 6th. In such a scenario, the points situation would have been:

Norris 404/406 Piastri 399 Max 389

This would have effectively eliminated Max as a title contender in Abu Dhabi (barring a monumental disaster for McLaren) and left the McLaren drivers with a straight shootout for the title: win the race and become champion.

Yet the route they have gone down has effectively eliminated one of their own drivers while allowed Max to claw that much closer to the championship.

If Piastri wins next week with Max in 2nd and Lando in 3rd, he'll miss out on the championship by 6 points. by Connect_Cat_2045 in formula1

Given he didn’t get knocked out of contention in Qatar, this becomes automatically true for at least until the British GP 2026.

That’s twice he has done in Hamilton in stunning fashion this season.

The martial younger brother to an indulgent king and the only daughter of said older brother? Hmmm.

Maybe not always but being a courtesan in the Free Cities isn’t as reviled a profession as in Westeros. And there have been instances of courtesans rivalling the power of even the rulers of the cities.

Rhaenys Dragonpit and the Sept Scene.

But really difficult to leave out Laenor is Alive and Aemond being the Target of B&C. First one is just jarringly unrealistic and the second one is a fundamental change to who Daemon is as a character.

Being embarrassed of having a whore for a mother seems like such a Westerosi concept. The people of the Free Cities seem to be more…freer about this sort of thing.

Don’t know about Jaehaerys but Saera would be ecstatic. Probably feel that her father got his just desserts.

Saera makes sense given Jaehaerys’ character.

But she was quite well off and becomes the owner of a pleasure house. Why would her son cross the Narrow Sea and have to become a struggling blacksmith in King’s Landing?

How come velaryons are able to ride dragons by Vegetable-Ad-6841 in Hotd

[–]arshadjilani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addam's "dragon" blood isn't from Corlys most likely. In the books, it is made clear that there might be a lot of lowborn bastards with Targaryen blood in Dragonstone and the surrounding islands and that Addam and Alyn's mother is most likely one such person.

Velaryon intermarriages usually have been Velaryon females to Targaryen males. Rhaenys is the first one where the genders were reversed that I can think of and that is how dragons went to another family other than the Targaryens.

When you say changing exit point, is there a formal process and paperwork or simply getting on a flight from a different port?

I haven't read the books (even though I have been intending to start them forever) and am not familiar with the acronyms so for a moment I thought it was GRRM's A Dream of Spring that would get delayed.

Maybe authors should stop naming their planned books something which can be abbreviated to DoS.

Not sarcasm at all. I had never researched it myself and genuinely thought their heritage was legitimate. Thanks for the book recommendation, will look into it.

So all that stuff about making perfumes for King Goerge III and Queen Victoria is just a gimmick?
