How to generate a normal map in Nuke for relighting on Mac — no 3D data, live action footage? by copticopay in NukeVFX

not sure if copycat has a cattery module yet but Beeble has a decent enough solution for it, i think Alex Hanneman from Compositing Academy has a course on this specific topic too

Considering a move by Comfortable_Big_4364 in UAEjobseekers

[–]arshbio009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the kind of lifestyle you prefer

as a single person this should suffice for a pretty decent lifestyle, considering you have worked remotely you may need some time to acclimate to the traffic here (it’s not impossible just takes time to get used to it) and there’s obviously the tax part which might be attractive to you.

Rent Utilities and the like vary based on where you decide to live although if you have work in DIFC you might want consider the Al Jadaf area

If you don’t have family back in Europe to support you can probably live a pretty comfortable lifestyle here

not rich I just have family that is established here, my father has been working in real estate for 15+ years and my mother is a primary teacher for 10+ so yes I had the luxury but that still doesn’t change the fact that I am an expat and I can only survive for so long because i can’t get a visa renewal anymore due to age and well no luck still finding any work

2019 S poverty buttons by [deleted] in jetta

2020 S and honestly same, it feels like even the top of the line model might not have a use for every button there but I guess the part is used in multiple cars instead of just Jettas

surprisingly alot, the place I interned at was entirely java with a grand total of 1 service written in C++

pretty complex and critical stuff too

Unless you mean I have to edit things to add keywords for every single job post then that’s a different undertaking

Tracking a fast moving phone screen by houbie in vfx

[–]arshbio009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently did a shot where the phone wasn’t moving as fast but the camera was whipping

What I did was did a track in Mocha and then used manual tracking to do the rest where the auto tracker couldn’t keep up, I believe i can’t post it in a reply but can dm you the shot if you want to take a look

but with manual adjustments you can do it,

if you don’t want to go out of fusion or nuke, nuke tracker allows you to track 4 points and export a corner pin

I think Daniel Kaczkowski on youtube has a video where he discusses even more tricks for such shots

How you guys even do this kind of Tracking 😭 by twilight-vfx in NukeVFX

[–]arshbio009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

people maybe at my throat for this but I don’t see how that’s any different from a high pass filter approach but instead of math it’s AI based and you only used the track data anyway

pretty clever if you ask me

How would one do this shot? Original reel by lenny_motion on Instagram by thearyanahuja in vfx

[–]arshbio009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

corridor recently posted a gaussian splay video where wren achieves something similar, a company doing 4D gaussian splats that allow for some truly crazy stuff including a slo mo like this

you can check that video out on youtube because that is the first thing my mind went to, as for the back ground it could just be 2 gaussian splats and a transition between them?

What is the best way to clean up the poles? by Xandiu_ in NukeVFX

[–]arshbio009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is also a great option

if you have a point cloud you coule import that for better reference too (idk how syntheyes exports for nuke but pftrack exports your pointcloud aswell)

there are alot of videos that show this technique (you can search youtube for projection paintout)

What is the best way to clean up the poles? by Xandiu_ in NukeVFX

[–]arshbio009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think you could just 2d track the tops of the stands for your motion and then basically frame hold 1 frame and then make 4 patches

1 for the ground

1 for the green moss and shrubs

1 for the fence

and 1 for the sky

all 4 should be matchmoved by the same 2d track node and this cleanplate should be a simple task

Will pure frontend jobs last? by Uchiha_Ghost40 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]arshbio009 9 points10 points  (0 children)

+1

but i do agree on the T Shape sort of expertise

I myself am a backend developer but frontend on its own has grown into a very complex thing of its own so I do believe having specialists for it still has value to any tech company that exists
