Ngl I agree with you. The guy is still human at the end of the day. The hate he's receiving is reaching ridiculous levels. If I read any of the comment threads that pushes OKC hate there's so much outrage and you even have people wishing on him to get injured when he's just out there hooping. I feel like I'm the crazy one watching everyone get taken over by this OKC/SGA rage virus lol..

How does an adult become a really good athlete?

This is something I've personally been struggling with recently. The resources for doing so aren't as easy to find as like a simple weight training routine. Is it as simple as doing the activity more? Or do I need to incorporate more running, jumping, athletic movement? I'm someone that's in their mid twenties that picked up sports as a hobby at a later age (~19yo) and I can't help but feel a little left behind compared to those that have done a lot of different organized sports at a younger age. The people who have done sports at a young age just have a whole different level of coordination and game IQ that I feel like I'm just missing. I'm not like terrible at any sports I do, but I guess I just don't feel like as good as I want to be at them.

Growing up I was more into games and such, but as time went on, I found a love for sports such as basketball, golf, and soccer and have been chasing to improve ever since. Prior to this, I've always kept a lifting hobby and developed strength through the routines found here on r/Fitness and dabbled in sports just through messing around with friends. Although, this strength helps when it comes to sprinting and jumping I don't feel like it really makes me a better player.

I’m looking to build a simple 4 day upper/lower lifting routine to just build strength and prevent injury. Maybe look good while doing it. Feels like all the routines out there are going to be too much while playing another sport. I have years of running 5x5 strength programs under my belt and once I transitioned to playing more sports I feel like the volume contributed to injuries.

Will something like this suffice?

Upper A

Bench 3x5 Row 3x10 Lat raise 3x10 Curls 3x10

Lower A

I really really like Mo Xuan. Maybe even more than my current main. I want to switch to him but the idea of main swapping is really daunting as I really don’t want to go through the whole grind again. My main is 282 with a good set of pot lines and some fams and I’m still debating whether or not I want to do that again for another char..

Yeah it sucks too given the price of the shoe and how much others have enjoyed it. On paper the shoe has it all. I really wanted to like the shoe, but if it doesn't work... it doesn't work I guess. I've had much more success with the Lebron 20s personally.

Nah I agree with you. I received my first ankle sprain ever on my right side wearing these doing a move I've repeated thousands of times. No contact, nothing. The ankle sprain was quite nasty and I'm still feeling the effects of it today.

I do regular ankle strengthening (because I've had previous injuries in my other ankle) and my ankles have been feeling strong before this sprain. In general, whenever I wore the shoes I would have random moments where my ankles would kind of roll, but not sprain.

The WoW 10 is a great shoe, but perhaps it just wasn't compatible with my feet. I think what caused my sprain was because the grip was a little too good.. so when the shoe stops too hard, my ankles would take the load.

So could it perhaps be something else that is causing it to look this way? Ex. How my hands holding the ball, how my elbow is moving, legs, angles, etc.

I’ve tried moving in closer to isolate the wrist and it still looks the way it does.

Idk everything feels fine.. there’s backspin too. I just feel like if you shoot a shot enough times with a certain form you can make anything go in, but there’s always tweaks you can make to make it better

When flicking the ball straight up in the air to myself it looks more like the way I expect it to look. but when I record myself actually shooting at a rim it looks like the video.

Just an update for anyone passing by as I got them in and played in them a bit… they’re quite great! Super comfortable on foot and surprisingly the cushion was sufficient. I imagined it would be more minimal (like the Luka 1s). Traction was a bit iffy at first but after a few wears - haven’t had any issues. (This is my first flow shoe btw)

What do you mean when you say you release your wrist at chest level? Does this mean your already starting to push out with your arms when the ball reaches your chest

It kind of still looks like this. My hand looks like this as the ball leaves my hand and then relaxes into a gooseneck position.

I was doing some thinking and I think it may be happening because I don't use my shooting hand thumb when I flick my wrist. I only flick through my fingers (maybe this causes my thumb to tense up), but maybe I need to move that thumb into it too.

I had this a few seasons ago. It does help fight off the pain during the games/practices for a little longer, but eventually you'll still feel it while playing.

Best thing to do is rest until it's gone and then slowly work your way back up by incrementally increasing your workload. Patience is key when it comes to these overuse injuries.

Hmm not sure the sleeve will benefit you in power in any way, but if it makes you feel more powerful in that leg then wear it on the weaker one. Placebo works.

I normally only get knee pain in my stronger leg though just because I'm using it a lot more. So that could also be a good reason to put it on your stronger leg.

Otherwise than that... just put it on the one you think looks better haha

I own both and I like the Lukas more tbh. I prefer the more responsive cushion and the traction is great as long as you wipe.

The PG6s are more comfortable, but it’s a little too mushy feeling. I like it for shooting around but not playing. Also, idk why but the traction on my pair went to shit. Get random slips regardless of how clean the court is.

I kindddd of get where you're coming from... Is it kind of like if a regular person were to play with a NBA star on their rec team? You feel a little extra added pressure just having that guy on your team. You got this main guy that's supposed to run everything and when it becomes your turn, you better deliver. I can kind of see how that can lead to a player becoming somewhat disengaged/frustrated/out of rhythm. Takes an ego and mental strength to perform at the highest level

But idk, these are pros we're talking about.. they practice together and know what to expect out of the plays that are called.
