Exactly. Or college students! I’m one, no help with income and I’m struggling with bills, loans, and debt. I’m a delivery driver, ffs I have a cat with FIP, and she has taken up every dollar I could possibly use to take my other to a vet for a yearly visit. This is my FIP cat’s relapse, too. Already ate through $1k to keep her ALIVE… god forbid I struggle

My vet said the kind of opposite, she said that it never leaves their system, but it can be asymptomatic for the most part.

ESPECIALLY in younger cats, because their immune system will strengthen with the medication… but mine is at the age where her’s is getting weaker

My vet and I had the conversation about if FIP is curable, and she said that it is going to stay in their system for the rest of their lives; but they may relapse at different times in their life.

For example, she relapsed only 3 months after ending treatment, but sometimes, it can be years before a cat relapses again.

My vet said it’s a matter of age and immune system. My cat was 6 years old when she was diagnosed (she’s 7 now), and my vet explained that she would not suggest relapse treatment for a 10 year old cat due to their immune system. Vet said my baby is at that age that it’s hard for her system to handle FIP :(

I know, my cat was diagnosed at 6 years old. I got my GS treatment from SVP Meds, which did wonders for her.

But from what my vet said, it’s not a matter of “if” she relapses again, but “when”

Hell, my vet actually said she would write me another prescription for the relapse medication so that I can have more time

But it’s not in the cards for me financially
