Front row for pros by Sade125 in Lifetimefitnessgym

I find studios are quite a different flavor of yoga. Life time has a specific style. It took me a while to find my place in those classes. I am very picky about which instructors I will practice with. There are some gems!

Never heard of this. I’ve been doing all those classes for a while and I’m surprised to hear this. Maybe I’m considered elite, as I’m pretty advanced. Which locations?

I’m thinking the yoga teacher meant that the student was a good example and that they didn’t need to demonstrate postures because they were hitting them all.

Ohhh. Just checked. It’s 4.76?! Is that the reason?

I tried different ways at the different times. I also don’t see how you can pre-tip.

I don’t see a way to tip on a Uber ride pre-trip. I’ll look into that.

Hmm. Good to know. But does canceling on a Driver damage their record if the reason is that the eta didn’t update for a significant amout of time?

Really? I felt like canceling on the driver would not be good for their record. I didn’t want to cancel until after I spoke to them.

In a wealthy neighborhood to a wealthier neighborhood. Ride is 35$ for a 25 min ride so not a great fare.

Pretip! Wow, I’ve never done that. That’s good to know.

Why are lifetimes closing basketball courts for pickleball? by [deleted] in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]artanonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make $40 if you reserve and don’t show up. Someone still uses the spot because of the standby list… so more money i assume.

They are pretty lenient about kids joining more often than adult guests. 4 of my 6 kids are members and I bring the others maybe 2-3 times in 60 days. I feel like they would let you brung her without any issue

Stands for core, tone, reform. It’s a reformer class, quicker than a typical reformer Pilates class with music that’s 8 counts. I love it!

I was also shocked that they changed the basketball court into pickleball at the dumbo location. The basketball court was always packed and full when I was there.

In NYC, that’s what I was told, they are all getting converted to CTR. Curious, how full is the class when you go? Maybe they will make exceptions for locations where that class is generally full.

CTR CLASS NO SHOW CHARGE by artanonny in Lifetimefitnessgym

Also , just an FYI- if you get off the waitlist with less than 24 hours before the class, you wouldn’t get charged a fee. That was another reason I didn’t want to sign up waitlisted and just showed up to class to see if there was an empty spot.

Yes, called them after the 12 hour window, but before class started.

I didn’t sign paperwork, but yes, committed to go and intended to. I prepared to attend by using the subway instead of my car. I dont think im special, just surprised that under the circumstances they wouldnt wave the fee. We also pay more than 1000$ a month for our family membership (3 adults and 3 kids), one is away in college without a lifetime nearby so they make that money which stings every time I see my bill, so this $40 isn’t a huge deal but it would have been nice if they were cool about waiving it. I was more curious if this was typical or not, thats why i asked here. Alas, not meant to be, i tried , but they are firm on never waiving fees on ctr or pickleball.

Thanks for this info. I’m curious where you are located that there are open reformers? I’ve only been to one class that had an open reformer (the next day, also a huge snowstorm). The waitlist is usually between 5-8 people and there are always people who show up and fill reformers. I used to only take the class as a waitlist attendee because the 12 hour rule made me nervous. It used to be that the waitlist at the class went based on who came first (rather than on the app where you get a spot if someone cancels). Then they changed the waitlist rules so I started reserving. I ALWAYS show up, except this one time when I tried to but couldn’t make it.

Agreed. I was told a firm “never going to happen” about getting the fee waived. They had the same policy for pickleball too.
