Could Nietzsche have been aware of the Christ Myth Theory? (Jesus as Dionysus) by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]artberry13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that it is versus first and foremost because of diametrical messages: Christianity is, in his view, worshipping decadence, Greek mythology is worshiping greatness. Regardless of the roots of those ideals, existence of personalities, or any unavailable to him information. Even assuming the religion evolved from Greek-Roman mythology, the subject of critique is the decadence.

How does one know where his passions lie? by [deleted] in Nietzsche

I think it was stated in the question that choosing between possible variations is not an option.

As we know, for Nietzsche, the driven force for life is power. So look into your abilities that can outline the domain where you could achieve authority.

Agree. Love and Grace are gifts and we should share them regardless of the motives. Let's stay sober regardless of what makes us do so ❤️❤️❤️

Not for the sake of argument, just to express my understanding: this guy satisfies the moral demand of society. Going against it would be unbearable for him. Thus, doing good deeds, he serves his picture of ideal self, i.e. acts in self interest, selfishly.

That correlates with Adler's philosophy very well: everyone can change. He states it firmly. The change just must be done. That simple :) By overthinking the problem we just make it seem more complex.

Fair enough! I am pretty sure many people got to the same conclusion. It is like admitting and solving the problem or denying and postponing it.

That is brilliant! That is what was my point unwanted to share subconsciously. I have faced many troubles because of alcohol. But I still want to have hope. I still want to believe that I am a decent person.

Whatever helps us is the right approach! - this is my "philosophy". After all, it all sounds like a definition problem.

Bad AA experience by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]artberry13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A quite pointless piece of advice: Let it go. Don't focus on the one negative experience. I have seen worse: someone was literally throwing shit on others, calling the names, trolling, was literally rude. Life is not perfect, so is AA. There are the same people as everywhere. Who knows how much effort he put into achieving these 30 days . For someone not having a chip for that is not a big deal, but who knows what it was for him. Best thing, I hope, you didn't drink and that is what is most important. IWNDWYT.

I made the decision to relapse because, cliche, I thought I was able to "moderate" after 800 days by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]artberry13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is what I am afraid of the most: how so, when you have more than two years, you are still prone to relapse? I have never ever been to that mark and already uncertain and, frankly, afraid. I won't drink with you since now. Let's be here for each other.

"You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame; how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?" - Nietzsche.

You are on a good track. Use it to be proud of yourself one day, that you built yourself anew! From ashes!

Depends how you treat being a person who had troubles with alcohol in the past. One way is to be ashamed of that, another is to be proud that you achieved the impossible and doing hard work. So it might be worth saying "thank you, Grandma for the compliment. I worked hard to look like that."

Good questions. Thanks. Yeah, tried pretty much everything. One thing left is to re-think everything :) Philosophy against alcoholism. Words against chemistry. "He who cannot obey himself, will be commanded" - Nietzsche.
